Bits left in pan and paddle when cooking chips

If you use fresh potatoes, try a different variety as some are a lot firmer than others.

For frozen chips, start cooking as soon as they are removed from the freezer and don't let them sit.

Turkey fryer won't start

Yo! the Dang pan has to be filled and on the burner which makes contact with the auto shut off sensor that is measuring the temp of the pan. The weight of the filled pan holds that Lil temp sensor down and allows the gas to continuously flow as if you were holding that Lil red button. So after hours of trying to light it without the pan you should find that it does work with the filled pan on the burner holding the red button, stick a match in the hole and let the button go and watch the blue flames flow. My gripe now is that it shuts off after the oil temp reaches 250 to 260 degrees then you have to reignite. Oh yeah my 10lb Turkey was crazy tasty.

We've got a cookworks deep fryer model st-1060,

Hi everyone concerned that your Cookworks ST - 1060 won't work.

Take out the whole heater from the cooker.
Turn it up-side-down, so that the thermostat controll is to the bottom.
Looking at the side that the heating element fits, you'll see 4 small black screws. Dont touch them. You'll also see 3 white metal cross head screws holdoing the heater in the apliance, don't touch these either.

Around the outside, there are 3 more screws set deep into the plastic housing. Unscrew these and keep them safe.
From the domed end, prize open the housing and pull it away.

Inside you'll see the thermostat which has a black plastic pin protruding from it. It is an 'over-heat cut out switch'. PRESS IT IN and re-assemble the unit.

The unit now works again. NOTICE! If the cut out triggers again, it might be a better option to have the unit serviced by a qualified electician.

Hope this helps.

Just got a deep fryer and never used one before. I assume I use vegtable oil... How much. Then I want to cook onion rings

Look on the inside of the oil pan itself, should be marks to indicate the proper amount. I have had 3 fryers so far, and they all took a gallon of oil. After you try the onion rings, throw some tators thru a mandalin, and make your own chips.

Defective fryer

There is nothing better that some fish and chips but I don't think this fryer is the one for that. The reviews I have researched say it is unreliable and dangerous due to the lid pops of at high heat. Maybe you can return it for a refund I don't know. Wish I had better news for you but I don't. The best southern way to deep fry is in a cast iron pan. A BIG one! Season it and start cooking! Cholesterol? Whats that? Have a great day and hope this helped you.

Thermostat Issue DCS Fryer??

This sounds to me like the thermostat is not sensing and is reading a closed circuit all the time. You will probably need to replace the thermostat.

Thanks
