Take a hammer or similar tool, and with the WOODEN END ONLY, tap on the starter and/or solenoid while you have the key turned to the start position. Should start then if all is otherwise OK. May not need further repairs. Sometimes just needs a "tap" to bring it back to life.

Husqvarna mower starts and dies

The unit on the bottom of the carb bowl is an anti fire solinoid, when the ignition is switched on you should hear an audible click as the pin in the centre of the solinoid jumps back to the normal run position, to test remove the unit, switch the ignition on the pin should retract fully into its housing, if not it will shut off the main jet in the carb, replace if required this may well be your problem.

04 trailblazer wont start just a click all lights air and radio work

well having lights still means battery power is available but how much, check battery volts should be 12.5 volts, if battery volts below 10 volts the starter solenoid hold in and pull in winding wont be enough to drive starter solenoid and starter. if battery okay.make sure battery cables battery posts is clean from corrossion.if all is good, have starter and solenoid checked out at auto zone or advance auto parts.if you hear clicking under the hood look for faulty starter relay

Trouble with the battery would not hold charge. While driving car stopped. Tried jump starting no.go . Tried new battery car won't click over?

Double whammy. starter non operational and alternator doesnt charge. Hmm it has to just be one problem not you have clean battery connections external part of the battery or internal part of the battery.concentrate your effort on the terminals and lets start this car.does the head light go on if yes . okay now turn the ignition did the battery just spark if it did you got a bad connection still okay now maybe you didnt turn the ignition did the light dim no okay you got a bad starter. tap the starter did it start or want to start. if it did youll need a starter. okay now that starter has a fuseable link is it blown or any of the omega fuse blown cause that will make a not charge and a starter not start. By the way the terminal that goes to the relay box and fuses is it making good contact?

Car won't start, does not turn over, I believe I hear the solenoid clicking

check battery connection. clean if needed. check that the battery is okay (voltage) and check connection to starter. tighten if loose. otherwise check ignition switch. if you can hear the solenoid click tighten battery connection.

Husqvarna yth2448 pto switch kills motor/battery will not charge

you may hav a bad alt. problem with the mower dying when you engage the pto is most likley a bad sensor or wire unplugged on the seat sensor.the way it works is if the blades are turning and it dosent sense you being on the seat the mower shuts down.this has been standard on mowers for quite a few years now. it keeps the blades from cutting you up if you fall off the seat while mowing. as for charging i would try cleaning the battery connections and get the battery checked first.

95 Honda Nighthawk 750 will not start--only clicks, even with new battery

If you are hearing a click and the battery and cdi box are good, than it is most likely you solenoid. Try tapping on the solenoid while try to start it. You can also try to run battery cables straight to solenoid to make sure it is not the starter swtich. You can also use a screwdriver and jump it across solenoid terminals and see if it turns over that way.

Double check all cables are clean and in perfect metal to metal contact.

1999 Honda Accord, 5 speed

It could either be a BAD starter or a BAD ignition they both would have the same symptoms of a "CLICK" alone. I would most likely lean toward the ignition because the key is difficult to turn but its not all ways true that key is tight because the ignition is bad, although possible. It could just mean a bad ignition cylinder(just the key part why its tight) I want you to do a test for me. With clutch engaged turn key to start position and listen for click on starter in the hood, when trying to start. If you hear starter click then the ignition switch is good. (Before you do this make sure that battery is FULLY CHARGED).STARTER IS AT FAULT. IF no clicking is heard coming from starter check starter fuse and if its good YOU have a BAD ignition switch. Contact if you need more hep and Thanks for using FIX YA
