Question about JVC KS-AR8001D Car Amp
THERE ARE TWO THINGS THAT COME TO MIND WHEN DEALING WITH THESE SYMPTOMS. FIRST MAKE SURE ALL POWER CONNECTIONS, ESPECIALLY THE GROUND ARE VERY SECURE. NEXT YOU WILL WANT TO MEASURE THAT VOLTAGE AT THE AMPLIFIER AS YOU INCREASE THE VOLUME TO SEE IF YOUR POWER IS SAGGING INTO A LOW VOLTAGE BELOW 11.5 VOLTS. IF SO, THEN YOU NEED TO UPGRADE THE WIRE SIZE RUN TO THE AMPLIFIER. THE SECOND THING TO CHECK IS TO MAKE SURE THAT THE VOICECOILS OF THE SPEAKER ARE NOT DAMAGED AND PRESENTING A LOWER IMPEDANCE HIGH CURRENT LOAD TO THE AMPLIFIER, WHICH WILL CAUSE IT TO SOMETIMES TO GO INTO PROTECTION. THIS CAN ALSO AGGRAVATE SCENARIO NUMBER ONE, AS IT WILL DEFINITELY DRAW MORE CURRENT, PUTTING YOU CLOSER TO AN UNDER-VOLTAGE PROBLEM. LET ME KNOW IF I CAN BE OF FURTHER ASSISTANCE....V
