Hello, Typically on the Maytag fridges, you need to press and hold the "lock" button in for 3-5 seconds and release it. That will unlock the dispensers.

I've included a copy of your owner's manual for your use and future reference, in case you need to refer to it in order to address any other users options and settings, etc.

http://www.ajmadison.com/ajmadison/itemdocs/MFI2266AE_Owner.pdf

Please download a copy and print out one for your use. I have a file on my computer titled "Household Appliances & Equipment" in which I keep a copy of all the owner's manuals, guides, instructions, etc., so I'll always have them, just in case they are no longe available from online sources.

Hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!

If you don't have a lock/unlock button, I'm not sure how the keypad could get locked to begin with. I attached a copy of your owners manual to review. Let's try the other ways to unlock fridge keypads.

Try pressing the light on/off button. Turn the light "ON" and then "OFF" and HOLD the off button for 3-5 seconds, if that doesn't unlock the keypad, you will have to unplug the fridge and leave it unplugged for 5 minutes before you then plug it back in. This should reset the keypad.

If that doesn't rectify the problem, you should check the water filter to see if it needs to be changed, as the problem might be a clogged water filter. Some models have a filter status indicator with a yellow light, indicating that the filter is getting close to replacement and red when it's time to replace it. if you don't change it when it's needed/indicated, the water flow will get to the point that you won't have any flow out of the dispenser.

Another thing to check is to make sure you have water flowing TO the fridge water line connections, as the supply valve might have gotten turned off somehow. Also check to see if the dispenser lever is making contact with the control switch, up inside the water/ice dispensing area (just listen to hear the faint "click" as you press the lever in. Without that working, you won't get any ice or water through the dispenser.

And lastly, if that's not the problem, it is possible that the water inlet valve on the bottom back of the fridge is faulty.

Hope this gets things working again and best regards!

Here's the section, from your manual, describing the procedure for ice maker

    and water dispenser operation

    To Turn Off/On:

    IMPORTANT:

    ■ Depending on your model you may have a control center with

an On/Off button (Style 1), or you may have a control center

without an On/Off button (Style 2).

    ■ The On/Off control turns off cooling for both compartments

and turns off the dispenser. It does not disconnect power to

    the refrigerator.

    Style 1
    – Press and hold the On/Off button for three seconds.

The red LED will light up to indicate that cooling is Off. Press the

On/Off button again to turn on the cooling. The LED will turn off.

    Style 2
    – Press the Freezer (+) pad until OFF appears in the

display. Neither compartment will cool. Press the Freezer or

Refrigerator (-) pad to turn the cooling back on.

Just got your comment and realized that the reason that your dispenser is shutting off after 5 minutes is because the fridge thinks that the water dispenser is stuck open and is flooding your floor.

This was a feature that was added into many brands of fridges with water dispensers in the door, as faulty or leaking valves would literally flood peoples kitchens, so the manufacturers programmed an auto shut off feature to prevent flooding from happening.

To keep the fridge from going into auto shut off mode, try not to continuous run the water spigot for more than 4 minutes at a time. Otherwise, you'll have this lock-out happen often if you try to fill things for 5 minutes at a time.

Hope this helps and best regards!

Hi Ajwethjr, Have you confirmed the model number for your fridge is the one you posted on here? You selected the model number as # MFI2266AES. I need you to confirm this is your fridge, as there are only two (2) types of control panels for that model and I''ve provided the instructions for unlocking both styles. Have you downloaded and looked at the Owner's Manual I provided for you? If not, I can't stress enough that you need to do this.

I would like to ask that you check the model number of your fridge and also, take a digital picture of the control panel area by the ice/water dispenser, and post it on your Fixya question (just follow the upload image instructions) so I can confirm what buttons you have. I would also need to see the tempeature control panel, again, to be able to tell you how to rectify your issue.

Since the fridge is still cooling and defrosting properly, (you've never mentioned that the fridge isn't operating), it is very unlikely that the controller boards are faulty or acting up.

I've resolved many of these locked dispensers over the phone with my customers, so I'm sure we can get yours taken care of, once we have the correct info to work from. Thanks!

If the fridge is cooling, the H-V board isn't faulty. However, if the fridge isn't holding the temps in the fridge and freezer, then it is likey that the H-V board needs to be replaced.

There is a constant buzzing noise coming from the lower freezer ice maker. It is producing very few ice cubes. The control bar is down and in proper position to make ice.

Fridge keeps beeping or buzzing: The following is for Frigidaire models but others can be addressed similarly.

Several Frigidaire refrigerator models have an electronic control panel on the freezer door the owner can use to adjust the internal temperature, dispense ice and water and receive notification about issues such as the need to replace a water filter. The refrigerators also emit a beep for various actions and as an occasional alarm. Determining what causes the beeps necessitates some troubleshooting.
Temperature Controls ·A Frigidaire refrigerator's display panel blinks when the control panel is touched to set temperature controls. After pressing "Freezer Temp" or "Refrigerator Temp" on the keypad, press the arrow buttons within five seconds to increase or decrease the desired temperature. If you do not press the arrow buttons within five seconds after pressing "Freezer Temp" or "Refrigerator Temp" on the keypad, the refrigerator beeps to indicate the current setting will stay in place.

Door Open ·When you leave the refrigerator or freezer door open, the refrigerator beeps. Also, the "Door Ajar" indicator illuminates on the appliance's display panel. Shutting the door and pressing "Alarm Reset" stops the beeping and turns off the "Door Ajar" indicator light.
·The Frigidaire refrigerator has a control lock feature that prevents use of its control panel or dispensers when the unit is locked. When the control lock is active, a beep sounds when a keypad or dispenser is pressed. Release the control lock by pressing the "Control Lock" icon for three seconds. A beep will sound, and the icon's light will go out.
Power Reset ·A power reset is occasionally necessary if the Frigidaire refrigerator's control panel does not work normally or a reset function on the keypad does not work. A power reset involves disconnecting power to the refrigerator by unplugging its power cord from the electrical outlet, waiting 30 seconds and plugging the power cord back into the electrical outlet. When the control panel resets, a beep sounds. If the refrigerator beeps even after a power reset and the beeps' source is not known, contact Frigidaire.

The refrigerator makes 6 beeps after dispensing water. Everything seems to be working normally so I do not understand why it beeps after the paddle returns to its normal position.

Plug in refrigerator and you should now have full use of your door panel.
This unit has a built in safety timer mechanism. If it dispenses water for two minutes, it assumes it is flooding your house and shuts the panel down. If you are filling a pitcher of water, just stop dispensing halfway through to reset the safety timer.

Front Door Amana Computer Door Pad Changes on its Own? Amana ARS2667BW

it could be the power outage. electronics are very sensitive, it could be damage by just static electricity alone. i suggest that you can plug it to an automatic voltage regulator with a time delay so that it could save your unit after a power interruption.

regarding your problem now, it could just be a touch pad problem. maybe that is the only part fried by the surges. i assume the refrigerator cooling performance was not affected. only the touchpad panel is affected.

Ice maker not getting water after changing filter

Check the following:
Is the freezer door closed completely?
Is the ice storage bin installed correctly?
Is there ice in the storage bin?
Has the ice frozen in the storage bin?
Is ice stuck in the delivery chute?
Has the wrong ice been added to the storage bin? Use only
cubes produced by the current ice maker.
Has the ice melted around the auger (metal spiral) in the
ice bucket?
Dump the ice cubes and clean the ice storage
bin.
Is the ice dispenser stalling while dispensing “crushed”
ice?
Change the ice button from “crushed” to “cubed.” If
cubed ice dispenses correctly, depress the button for
“crushed” ice and begin dispensing again.
Has the dispenser arm been held in too long? Ice will stop
dispensing when the arm is held in too long. Wait 3 minutes
for dispenser motor to reset before using again.

The ON/OFF switch is located on the top right side of the freezer
compartment.
To turn the ice maker on, slide the control to the ON (left) position.
To manually turn the ice maker off, slide the control to the OFF
(right) position.
NOTE: Your ice maker has an automatic shutoff. The ice maker
sensors will automatically stop ice production, but the control will
remain in the ON (left) position

REMEMBER:
Allow 24 hours to produce the first batch of ice. Discard the
first three batches of ice produced.
The quality of your ice will be only as good as the quality of the
water supplied to your ice maker. Avoid connecting the ice
maker to a softened water supply. Water softener chemicals
(such as salt) can damage parts of the ice maker and lead to
poor quality ice. If a softened water supply cannot be avoided,
make sure the water softener is operating properly and is well
maintained

The Dispenser Lock (on some models)
Your dispenser can be turned off for easy cleaning or to prevent
unintentional dispensing by small children and pets.
NOTE: The lock feature does not shut off power to the product, to
the ice maker, or to the dispenser light. It simply deactivates the
dispenser levers. The ice and water dispensers will not work.
Style 1: Press the LOCK BUTTON to lock the dispenser. Press the
UNLOCK button to unlock the dispenser.
Style 2: Press and hold the LOCK OUT button to lock the
dispenser. Press and hold the LOCK OUT button a second time to
unlock the dispenser.
