Question about Apple Computers & Internet

27'' Imac won't print

New 27'' imac running 10.6.2 stopped printing from Brother HL-1870N. Printer window says ''looking for printer.'' Did print for a couple of days, then would only print if some other computer in network printed first. Now won't even print when connected by ethernet.
Any suggestions?

Try to print and in the print window click the blue button on the left of the top box with hopefully two arrows this should give you the option to choose a printer, follow the prompts when the brother is connected and on and you should get there.

My Brother HL-2070N printer won't print Web page

In January 2011 Brother update its drivers for your printer due to a compatibility problem. You haven't advised what operating system you're using but you apparently need to update your drivers.

If you are running Windows 7, you will have to update the drivers either from Microsoft Update or Brother. Click on this link for Brother.

Trying to print on a #10 envelope from iMac 27 with Os 10.5.1 using iWork. Printer will not load paper

I am on an iMac using OSX 10.5.8 and printing on an Epson R1800. With iWork, word processing module I set up the envelope to print and under the File menu, select page setup and choose #10 Envelope with Portrait orientation. I feed the envelope into the printer in the normal horizontal, top first, print surface up. In the File menu I select Print and hit Return. Most of the time this works. Sometimes the envelope feeds through without printing, and occasionally the envelope won't feed but the printer goes through the printing cycle. The R1800 is not the ideal envelope printer. It is made to print photos on photographic paper. I use an old fashioned typewriter to address envelopes.

Just purchased an iMac computer for my HP DeskJet 880C

You can log on to the hp site and get the current driver/printer software for your printer. Get the mac os version and install via usb. Download and install then restart your imac... then attempt a print...
Should work fine with an iMac.

On my hl-2040 laser printer running on imac with tiger. everything seems ok but jut will not print. the go light is on but won't print

The "go" light would be on even if it wasn't connected to your computer. It simply means that the printer has reached "ready" condition.
You've not installed it correctly

OS-x driver for Brother HL-730 (600dpi) printer

Macs don't use drivers, but rather .ppd files.  you should be able to download the PPD from brothers website:  http://www.openprinting.org/ppd-o-matic.cgi?driver=hl7x0&printer=Brother-HL-730&show=0
(Direct Download Link)
When you are in system settings, goto printers, select the network printer, and when you get to choose the PPD from the pulldown menu choose "Other" and you should be able to browse to the PPD you downloaded.
you are using a UNIX based system.  The Linux PPD should work just fine.

Brother MFC6800 not printing

To answer more effectively - how is the printer connected to the iMac? Is it a USB connection, a printer cable, is the MFC 6800 connected to a print server, an AirPor, etc? A second question I have is if you are trying any kind of tricky printing such as manualduplex printing.

Also, a shot in the dark...Is the Auto Reduction set to on or off? To check:
1. Press MENU/SET, 2 (Fax), 1 (Setup Receive), then 4 (Auto Reduction).

2. Press the up or down navigation key (keys located above and below the
MENU/SET key) until the display shows "Reduction: ON?".

3. Press MENU/SET.

4. Press STOP/EXIT.

Another item to keep in mind:
You can use three sizes of paper for printing your faxes and
copies---letter, legal and A4. When you change the size of paper you ha
ve loaded in the Brother machine, you need to change the setting for the paper size so your Brother machine can fit the incoming
fax on the page. To set the Paper Size:

1. Press MENU/SET, 1 (General Setup), then 1 (Paper Size).

2. Press the up or down navigation key to select LETTER, LEGAL, or A4.

3. Press MENU/SET.

4. Press STOP/EXIT.
