Im having trouble connecting my ps3 to my new comcast internet. How do i fix this prob?

Before connecting the ethernet cable to the back of your Playstaion3 hold the modem reset button for 15 seconds, when 15 secs are up connect the ethernet cable to your ps3 system, wait until tour Comcast High Speed Internet goes online again (all the lights are showing fine) then try setting up your Playstation connection settings again, it might work since now you have reseted your modem and the modem will send information to new device, I hope this information works for you, :)

Goto the command prompt bar in the start menu type ' cmd ' then click o.k . A black dos screen will appear type in ' ipconfig/all ' and it will the the two servers you need under dns servers but if your doing a wired connection to your ps3 then you need to manually configure your dns on the custom method of setting up your internet connection on your ps3 as if this is auto config that will give you a dns error. I might advised you to call the PS3 manufacturer to gather the ports of the PS3 then you'll needing the help of netgear provider to open the ports of the PS3 to the router, so that the PS3 will allow to the firewall of your router.

I would suggest that first you stop using the first modem. Then plug your computer into the modem and install using the comcast cd that came with your welcome package. If that doesn't work please tell me.

Hmm, try setting it closer to your router. Ya know the box that has the wireless internet in it. It might not be getting a strong enough connection.

maybe your DSL does not have wireless connection. this may be the only reason so check 4 any probs. in ur dsl wireless connection.

there are many possible reasons and solutions for this
-sometimes the weather can block the signal to a router or PS3
-the closer the router is to your PS3 the better the signal
-try not to have a wall interfering with the signal to the ps3
-a computer in your house may have a signal that is interfering with the signal to your ps3
-maybe comcast just sucks?
-try using a wired connection

I have comcast to what i did, because i had the same problem as you was I reboot my modem if you have a modem you can reboot it in the back but first unplug everything from the back all the cords then reboot it last. wait five minutes plug everthing back into plugs and you should get your connections back you would probably have to do this everything you connect to ps3 online hola back if it was helpful email [email protected]

I HV COMCAST AND THE BELKIN ROUTER AND I WANTED TO NO HOW CAN I CONNECT MY PS3 TO THE ROUTER.

I have a problem. I have everything hooked up and when i go for a connection test it says my connection has failed because there is an DNS error. What is a DNS? and what do i have to do to fix it?
