Re: I need help programming the phone to pick up CO1
This is a guess because you still didn't tell me what system you're connected to. On an idle phone, try pressing PROGRAM 131 STORE. In a TA-824, that makes you select line 1. If it's busy, nothing happens.

Press HOLD(SYS PGM will be displayed) Press 400 (CO Connection will be displayed) Press SP- Phone(CO NO.?) Press SP-Phone (Not Connect will be displayed) Press AUTO ANS/Mute until (Connect will be displayed)Press AUTO/STORE PRESS PROGRAM to return to NORMAL Display.
For the incoming Calls PRESS Program *#1234 (ENter Sys PGM will be displayed) PRESS 408(Day IN CO will be displayed) Press SP Phone (CO No? will be displayed) Press SP Phone (CO1:#01:DISABLED if this is displayed PRESS AUTO ANS/MUte the Enabled will be displayed) Press AUTO/STORE. Press Program to return to normal display. In this Manner All Calls will ring to extension which is connected to Jack 01. you dont need to press the button anytime there is an incoming call.
From the idle phone, press PROGRAM the button where line 1 used to be and dial 0 1 STORE do the same for line 2 if you unprogrammed that, using 2. Press PROGRAM or pick up the handset and drop it back down to end programming
Either button mapping or no dial tone at the system cabinet. If your desplay sas CO1 and you have no dial tone, go to the sytsem cabinet ans swap the modular plugs for CO1 and CO2. If the No Dial Tone moves, "mus be sumpin wrong wit yo lines".
It could be a couple of things. First, press PROGRAM and the CO1 button. If it does not say CO-1, then dial 0 1 STORE and it will.
If it does, you probably altered system programming and that line is now restricted from the phone. That requires Installer system access to the programming from the phone connected to the first jack in the cabinet.
I've never heard of the ability to reassign an intercom button as it's a fixed feature, but maybe so. Start by assigning the lower left phone button back to CO1 and let's see what happens. WIthout picking up the handset, press PROG the button and dial 0+01 STORE or ENTER.
Pick up the handset and drop it back in the cradle to exit programming.
Did that work? Making button 1 into CO1 will drop the programming from the intercom button and it should default back to intercom.
If your 773x phone is connected to most Panasonic systems, you can press PROGRAM and the place where lines are supposed to be assigned and it will tell you what's under the button with names like CO1, CO2, CO3 etc.
If it says something else, you can make it become outside line access buttons by the command 0+a number 1,2,3 and STORE.
You can do all 3 buttons at once, just keep pressing them and dialing the sequence with a STORE. After you've finished, just pick up the handset and drop it back down to end programming.
Swap phones with a known working one. If it is really the position, you'll have to read the buttons. Go to a working location and dial PROGRAM 99 press the buttons and write down what they say (ie CO1 CO2 etc).
Then go to the non-working phone, press program 99 and the same buttons. If they don't say anything, then dial 0 01 store
press the next button and dial 0 02 store, etc. Do that on all 6 line buttons.
With luck, the phone will remap to the proper lines.
