This means that your unit needs to be restored. This can be done by hooking your unit up to Itunes, and clicking on the restore button. This may take several attemps, so dont get discouraged if it does not work on the first try. If your still having problems contact Apple to see if your unit is still under warranty with this site: https://selfsolve.apple.com/GetWarranty.do

Your serial number can be found on the back of the unit toward the bottom. If you have any other questions contact www.wiredextreme.com.

I have a gen 1 ipod touch which is disabled i have forgotten password and have a new computer with new verison of Itunes I have tried everything to enable ipod with no luck. Please help

Open itunes, connect your Ipod to the computer with the USB cord, a message will come up saying "iTunes could not connect to the ipod because it is disabled/locked with a passcode". press cancel. Unplug your ipod from the USB cord.
Now shut down the ipod, hold in the home button at the bottom and connect the USB cable back up, keep holding the home button down and you will see a picture of a USB cable and iTunes on your ipod screen. iTunes will say it has detected an ipod in recovery mode and would you like to restore it to factory settings? Click restore and sit back for a few minutes until it restores everything to factory settings. Your ipod will reboot and iTunes will detect it. You can then go into the ipod and install a new pass code if you wish to.

Hope this helps,
Rob

I brought a previous owned ipod touch whzt do i do to get password changed and then apply my own password and new name ?

First of all download Itunes if you haven't done that already. Open itunes, connect your Ipod to the ccomputer with the USB cord, a message will come up saying "iTunes could not connect to the ipod because it is locked with a passcode". press cancel.
Now with iTunes still open look under devices click on the little ipod icon and then click on the name and you can add your name and press enter. Press the little triangle next to the name you added to disconnect fron iTunes and unplug the USB cable. As for adding a new passcode, go into your ipod and go to settings on your ipod and go to general and go to passcode. its only a 4 number combination.
I hope this helped.
Cheers Rob

I have bought a brand new ipod touch, installed itunes and my ipod will not load. Just has a picture of the usb line and the itunes signal. Tried reistalling and restarting computer. Help!

This picture means you need to sync the new ipod with your computer.  Meaning they got to get close and acquainted.
Restart your computer.  Open up itunes and wait for it to load.  Then take the USB sync cord and connect one end to the ipod and the other end to the USB port on your computer.  Click set up new ipod and type in a name you want to use.  Follow the on screen instructions and don't disconnect the ipod until your computer says its done and its safe to disconnect.

You have to put it in recovery mode by powering it down, plug it into pc with iTunes open. When you power up continue to hold the round button until ituens says "iTunes has detected an iPod in recovery mode" answer yes to recover and resync. This is on apples website but it don't tell you to hold the button down untill iTunes sees it.

On the ipod touch the itunes icon comes out and is a usb cable with an arow pointing to the itunes icon

make sure you're USB is unplugged. when you're at the screen with the itunes symbol and the usb arrow, hold down the home and sleep button until the screen goes black, at this point, keep holding for another 10 seconds. at this point your screen should look black as if the ipod is off. connect to the computer and itunes shoulds show a message like "itunes has just discovered an ipod in recovery mode" you'll be able to do a restore and regain use of your touch.
if this does not work, message me back.
