I recently purchased a Canon PIXMA MX410 printer and was wondering if there was a way to turn the volume down when faxing? It is so loud. Thankyou.

A am not getting any sound when faxing or when faxes are coming through and my volume is on loud why is that.. I disconnected plugged it back in changed some settings and i still get nothing

Your HP all-in-one provides three levels for adjusting the ring and speaker volume. The ring volume is the volume of the phone rings. The speaker volume is the level of everything else, such as the dial tones, fax tones, and button press beeps. The default setting is Soft.
    1 Press Setup.
    2 Press 4, and then press 8.
This displays the Basic Fax Setup menu and then selects Ring and Beep Volume.
3 Press to select one of the options: Soft, Loud, or Off.
Note If you select Off, you will not hear a dial tone, fax tones, or incoming ring
    4 Press OK.

While printing pictures, the last part of the picture comes out reddish. have cleaned several times and is now worse. ink levels are all fine. what can fix this?

this means it's time for a new cartridge. The one you have has either been refilled too many times or is no good. You could also try realigning the printer in the printer settings. This sometimes helps get rid of any additional lines or ink shortage. Also try to clean it via the printer settings. You do not have to physically take out the cartridges to clean them. If you do, swipe the cartridge firmly with a kleenex. This will let you see if there are any colours missing. If nothing comes out then your sponge may be drying out and you will need a new cartridge because once it is dry, it cannot be refilled. Hope this helps. Cheers.

Cannon MX310 - Fax - Waiting for report

    I had the same problem.

My INK Level was Low and I had the setting "Fax Setting -> RX Setting -> Auto Print ON -> Print when no ink OFF", and so the report would not print due to the ink level being low.

Configure "Fax Setting -> RX Setting -> Auto Print ON -> Print when no ink to ON", and the report will be printed immediately, and the message will disappear.

Stops at 10% when setting up to pring

Do you have McAfee Security? Fought with this issue for two weeks, Lexmark even sent another printer. Installed new RAM (thinking it might be not enough/bad RAM), uninstalled service pack 3, FINALLY got rid of all things McAfee and voila! We now can print.

If you don't have McAfee, check for other security programs that might be interfering. I even thought it might be a Microsoft update.

    Good Luck!

    Dialing sound

I just read through the manual for the Fax element of your printer. There is no specific setting you can address to reduce the fax noise.

The fax sounds may (and should) be coming through your Windows Sound System. As such, you can test this by taking a look at your system tray. This tray is where the digital clock is located on the bottom right of your screen display. In the tray itself should be a small speaker icon. Place your mouse over this and it will display "Volume" near your mouse pointer, now click once on this icon once. You will see a slider appear titled Volume and at the bottom is a check box title "Mute". You can either drop the volume slider down to reduce the volume (if this is being driven by the Windows Sound System) or select the "Mute" box and that will mute all Windows Sound Features until you unMute it later. Which ever you choose, remember how you accessed this so you can re-enable sounds later should you choose to listen to them for any particular reason.

You can then send a fax again as a test and then witness what affect this has. I feel this will Fix your problem. I'm happy to help and assist further. In the worst case scenario the effort will have no affect on your Fax sound. But its been my experience over the years that when a fax generates unusually loud sound, it is coming through your speakers. Let's hope this is the case.

I have an iP-1600 Pixma printer. I have replaced both ink cartridges and the printer does print; however, the box still comes up saying "printer ink is low; replace cartridge." How do I get rid of this...

I think you are using 40/41 or 830/831 cartridge sets. Ink cartridge 41 are now a days found defective, even if it has original company mark. Tell your vendor to replace it with genuine one. Neglect the message "ink volume low". Try to print in gray scale mode avoid colour printing. At least you will be able to get your documents printed.

There are 4 volume controls to access them press MENU.

You should see “MACHINE SETTING?” if not use the SET arrows to scroll through the different menus, stop when you see “MACHINE SETTING?” Now press the SET button.

Now use the up & down arrows to get to
Buzzer Volume = that the machine beeps
Key volume = the tone that sounds when you press keys on the control pad
Alarm volume = the alarm if something happens.
Line volume = sets the level you hear at the fax is actively transferring a fax.

If you want to change any of the settings, press the up or down arrows to the level you like best and press SET if you don’t what to change that item just press SET. When you have adjusted all levels the way you want them press STOP and the levels will be remembered.

The most annoying sound to most people in the Line Volume. I have known people that like it as quiet as posable in thier work, but the problem is if you turn down the ALARM you won’t know when there is a problem. Many people like a little line volume so that they hear when they dial into a busy phone line, or if someone picks up the shared voice line.
