Just bought a house and moved in. I have plug the TV into the wall antenna socket and the TV comes up with the message 'weak or no signal' what could be the problem?

Hi, congratulation on your new house!

The problem is obviously from your antenna. The TV is not recieving any reception from the antenna and that is why it is displaying 'weak or no signal'.

Cross check your antenna connection and make sure the antenna wire is intact.

Also, most antenna's come with a booster. The booster makes reception from the antenna very strong and the TV would be clear.

Lastly, is this a new antenna or were you using it in your old house?

Please give me a feed back.

Yours sincerely.

Setting up the TV

You will definitely need some type of areial. A pair of rabbit ears for local reception and a powered set for longer range. But yes you will need an antenna near your TV or a good roof top one. Good Luck and thanks for asking. PS!!!!! Be sure to tell your TV you are looking for an over the air signal!

We have a bush set top box with no instruction book. one channell Win (9)is indicating ''no reception'' We were told by a local TV repairer to re tune our tv. How?

Hi
You should not have to re-tune your tv as the set top box will be plugged in via a scart lead so its the set top box that needs to be retuned.
Go to the menu of the set box and select new installation under features or set up.
Hope this helps

Brought new tv for bedroom freeview inc..set up

If you have got a good aerial, the high gain type- see image, it should run all the TV's you say. Make certain you have decent cable coming off the aerial (the stuff they use for satalite dishes). Then buy some high quality splitters, to feed the TV's. Don't split the cable outdoors!

Can this tv pick up the new digital off air signals? i just bought an indoor digital antenna and no channels will come in. do i need a converter box?

You need a digital box. If the TV is connected to the Digital Box & you have it setup correctly you should be able to get Digital channels. An internal antenna is not the best idea unless you are in a good reception area.

I have the Bush DFTA1A set top box and plugged the aerial into the back of it, then connected the 3 cables red, white & yellow also into the back of it and the other end of those cables into my DVD/TV. then follow onscreen prompts to install it. works fine.

Signal issues with my Insignia DTV converter box

As far as the antenna goes..NO. It is still an RF signal. The antenna just needs to be good for the frequency range of the stations you are receiving. The station numbers and frequency don't necessarily match like they use to. They are all over the place now.

I bought a 32" conia tv and i cant get good reception! i have bought a amplified antenna and a hd set top box and still no good reception. my other tv's in the smae spot have had no reception issues....

well it's the same as the days of old, the antenna has a range of reception. the further the sations antenna, the lager your antenna must be. just because you bought an amplified antenna does not mean you will receive the deep fringe station. also the antenna must be UHF and VHF to receive the broadcast in digital. most of the braodcasters have gone with the UHF band because it is more stable for the bandwith of digital broadcast. the UHF band is very directional as well, so you must be pointing to the broadcasters antenna. no set top antenna will work if you are further than 15 miles of the broadcasters antenna. the roof top UHF/VHF antenna with a preamp is the way to go. I have tested every compact antenna and unless you live in the city that the broadcast generates you will get no reception with these. terks are junk, and any small amplified antenna does not work if you are in low lying areas. roof top, roof top,.....ROOF TOP!!!!!
