Question about Maytag Atlantis MDG6400AW Gas Dryer
All gas appliances I have ever seen have a thermocouple which can shut down the gas flow if there is a momentary loss of combustion.
A lag in the response of these is normal since they must first be heated thoroughly to function.
This thermocouple is prone to failure due to its continuous exposure to high heat and yours has probably failed and a safety device is turning off the flame to avoid being without the normal degree of protection.
