It sounds like the resolution is set wrong. Go to the minimum and see if that solves the problem. If so keep working up.

Monitor power light blinks, then goes out. PC screen goes black.

Unplugging the power cord repeatedly is not a good idea! I hope this helps: 1- After you get a picture, go to "Device manager" (Click on Start-Programs-settings-device manager) and make sure that there is not question or an exclamation mark next to Monitors. If that is the case you might need to reinstall the driver! 2- Make sure that your video card is not faulty by hooking up a different monitor and see if it is working ok. If you still have the same problem, then you need to replace the video card. 3- Check all cables and power cords and make sure that there's good connectivity on all ends (before powering up the machine) and that there are no nicks or cuts. If possible try replacing the monitor's data cable as well. Good luck

(1) If you have connected windows cpu to monitor then when you power up the computer press F8 key then enter in enable vga mode then go to control panel ->display property -=>settings change screen resolution to 1024*768.
then check .
(2)But if you are not able to see any display on screen then open cpu cabinet and refix ram memory pull cmos cell from motherboard for 10 minutes ,if there is any pci card or vga card installed on motherboard reattach it into motherboard. Then check.
If you have mac book then follow my second solution.

Hook up to the CPU

Two cables are needed, Power and Data signal (VGA). Most monitors take the same type of power cord as computer power supplies. (Some computers will allow you to plug in a slightly modified cable that will power the monitor off the computer's power supply. This cord has similar ends on both sides (with the prongs inside a rubber housing). The only issue with this is it makes the power supply work harder and thus can fail sooner.) Most computer supply shops (online and brick-and-mortar) will have the power cables, if you don't have extra cables hanging around.

I hope this helps.

I have a HPw1907 monitor and it will turn on for about 2 seconds, and it turns off. The CPU is fine, just a problem with the monitor. Any way to fix this?

We have the same model of monitor and had the same problem few days ago. The monitor just goes black/turns off. I noticed that the power button has a yellow blinking light and cannot be turn on/off again using the power button. The CPU is working fine also. When I turn off the avr, the power button's light turns blue for a few second and you can hear a click sound from the back of the lcd before it totally turns off. My lcd monitor is over a year old now and is 110v or 220v capable. Mine was originally in a 220v, i just put it in 110v and the monitor was fixed.. Hope this can somehow fix your problem.

Believe it or not, I got given a f1503 not working but without the power cable. He said the same thing everyone else is saying. I did not have a 12 volt 3amp converter but a 12 volt 1.5 amp converter. Plugged it in turned it on and wow it worked fine. It has been working for 1 week on with no problems. So try a different power converter, worked for me.
