Re: Can't view the screen

most laptops have an option to switch between CRT, CRT&LCD, & LCD... usually you have to hold down the 'fn' button and then press F5 to switch back and forth.

Did you try that? If that doesnt work let me know the model of your laptop and I will try to help you further.

non working ram leads to no boot at all or crashes. if ur laptop able to boot but unable to detect the built in monitor while at the same time detects external monitor just fine then the problem probably lies on the built in monitor itself or probably some lose cable between the mainboard and the monitor. i can assure u the GPU is working fine. if u can locate the RAM, it doesn't hurt to check them out tho. try reverting to stock ram by removing the newly installed ones and see.

Toshiba satellite turns on but power light blinks and screen is blank

Start as basic as you can, remove everything you can, RAM, HDD, modem (if equipped), WiFi card, optical drive, etc. It should beep when powered up, complaining about missing RAM. Install RAM and see if you can get it to POST. If so, install 1 item at a time until it stops working. Bad part found.

If it doesn't complain about the ram, it's probably a bad system board. If it does complain, but doesn't post with the RAM in, it could be still be a bad stick of RAM or a bad RAM socket on the board, try one at a time, and in each of the sockets.

On my DellD620 I get multicolored horizontal line that eventually cover the whole screen. This happends when I maximize the window I am using. If view the page in the smaller window it works fine. How do I...

To help identify the problem you could try using an external monitor (these just plug into the side [blue plug]) If you still get the same problem on an external screen ,you have a problem with your graphics. You may be able to aleviate this by adding more RAM.

HP Pavillion zt1135 laptop RAM BIOS battery location

For replacing RAM on your notebook, you can refer the service manual provided below: Refer page no: 87 to 91. NOTE: PDF manuals require the Adobe Acrobat Reader for viewing and printing. Further, I have verified the complete manual but couldn?t find the location of the BIOS battery. If you experience any inconvenience, I recommend you to contact Authorized Service Provider.

Dear Check your ram because it is 100% RAM's fault. If you are using two RAMs, you should try with one RAM and then try to power on if it will work its mean you have found the fault and problem have solved. If the problem will remain same and then you should replace the second RAM and pull out the first RAM and then try to boot up. I assure your problem will be solved.

Good Luck

Fujitsu Lifebook N6210

Found my own solution, though it cost me a bit. A kernal program was corrupted and interfering the computer's ability to recognize key presses. I ran the Recovery disc and reloaded XP. It solved the problem, but I lost my C: drive data. Most of it I had backed up before, so a moderate inconvenience.

Now, if anyone has a good idea about how to recover my lost data, that would be nice.

Acer 9300 bios upgrade failed

I have the same problem, and my problem was that I have installed 4GB ram and that ram modules wasn't accepted with the new bios. So I installed the old modules and it all worked again, downgraded the bios to one version older and installed my 4GB ram modules and it all worked.

Hope that's your problem too.
Good luck

What program are you using for the dual setup? Place a shortcut in startup. usually an external monitor is used in place of the laptop LCD. The Monitor may need to be #1 and the laptop LCD#2 This site may help too. Good Luck, Tim
