Press "menu" and "guide" on the box and then you will get the main menu to disable the hdmi over-ride. then over ride the hdmi and then turn the tv off/on then check out.

also try this option 1) Turn off the Cable Box and press the menu setting on the remote till a white screen pops up.
2) Scroll down and disable the overide settings turn to off
Then scroll down to additional hdmi settings and hit enter
Change it from hdmi to dvi
Then exit and turn your cable box back on
Your screen will flicker a bit and then focus back to normal
Now try changing your channels from sd to hd it should be fixed.

I don't have a cable box--I'm just concerned about watching the movie. So just the connection from the blu-ray to the tv . I watch the rest of my tv on tivo, and use a different tv input.
So, I'm not sure any of your suggestions will work. Which ones should I follow?
If it doesn't work from the blu-ray to the tv, does it mean the unit is faulty?
