Wacom Tablet Installation: Where's the Setup Process?

I recently uninstalled my tablet driver so I could see if re-installing it would make the pen pressure work in a paint program I use, SAI.
Each time I've tried re-installing it, the setup tells me I need to restart in order for the installation process to begin. So I've probably restarted 10 times in the past couple days trying to make this work, but it hasn't. I don't get any installation dialogue when my computer comes back on, and I'm pretty sure I've tried everything I can to get it to work.

I've gone through my files and deleted my previous tablet and driver files completely, I've restarted with the tablet unplugged then plugged it in when the computer started up again, I've restarted it with the tablet plugged in, I've tried downloading the driver from a few different sites, I've tried compatibility mode... Nothings working and I've searched all over the internet looking for help.

Is there something I'm missing?

What you should do now is to go to Control Panel->Add Remove programs. Select the entry for this tablet and delete it. after disconnecting the tablet reboot the PC. Then without connecting the tablet, install the drivers, Reboot. Connect the tablet and allow Windows to detect the tablet and load its drivers. Then only will work properly.

You may have an issue with the drivers. If you're using the drivers on the CD, try updating to the latest drivers:

If you're using the latest drivers and the issue persists, try rolling back your drivers to the previous release:

My Graphics Tablet Pen Keeps Clicking When I Hover It Over The Tablet Without Touching It, How Can I Fix It?

This sovled my issue using a Mac...
1. Download the latest driver from Wacom http://www.wacom.com/en/CustomerCare/Drivers.aspx
If you already have the pen tablet uninstaller utility, run it. In my case there was a Bamboo Fun folder with a Bamboo Utility inside the applications folder. If you cannot locate it, you need to run the installation of the new driver. Then go to said folder, open the utility, select All User and Remover preferences. THEN select "Remove pen tablet". You will essentially remove the driver you just installed.
Then RESTART your computer, and proceed to re-install the same driver. Issue should be solved.
If not, contact Wacom customer support. 800-922-6613
That fixed it for me. Hope it makes sense.

Tablet won't respond; installed properly; pen not in Tool list

USB problems maybe ? Or something to do with your tablet pen (batteries), or the tablet itself.

My Wacom Intuos3 tablet won't switch into pen mode

I had the same problem with my Intuos3 on Vista. Tech support suggested the following.

Do this.....Go to Start--->control panel---->system(in classic view)---->device manager--->click on "human interface devices"--->then click on "Wacom virtual HID driver" and right click on that and disable it. Your computer will ask you to restart and you will want to do that.

Everything works fine now.

Wacom Tablet

pderozza,

I had a similar problem. My wacom tablet only worked in photoshop. Very annoying. I was able to fix this by doing the following:

  1. Open Control Panel | Administrative Tools | Services
  2. Right click on TabletPC Input Services and pick properties.
  3. In the General tab make sure startup type is Automatic.
  4. Make sure the services is started.
  5. In the Log On tab make sure the radio button is on Local System, and check Allow service to interact with desktop.
I think I broke it in the first place because I was annoyed with the Tablet PC services running in the background, and tried to stop them. I've just learned to live with it.

Driver don´t work (MacOSX Leopard

I had the same problem, and finally I found a solution (as stupid as I don't know I didn't think about it before). Try to uninstall the driver (application > wacom tablet > uninstall) then download the last driver (june 2008 I think) and install it
