Question about Compaq Evo N610C Notebook
Hi there.... I picked up my EVO N-610c a few months ago... Everything was running great...
Im Running windows 2000.
Lately after the System has been on for 1 Hour + The bottom right ( and in fact the entire right fifth ) of the screen looses a slight amount of brightness, which is replaced by a faint red glow... The Screen is usable, but as time passes the glow becomes more pronounced and the said portion of the display less luminated... I Originally thought it was disturbance from my CRT monitors, but ive tested the laptop out in the open, and the same thing happens...
Im thinking it Might be the CCFL Lamp... Could anybody Confirm.
Thanks in Advance :)
The problem is not the inverter. The problem is with the backlight. Being similar to a flourescent tube, it is glowing pink, because the gas inside the tube is getting weak. You will need to replace the backlight, or the whole screen if no one in your area is qualified. It is the width of a large pencil lead, and just a
fragile. So if you have to handle it yourself, replace the LCD. Easier, but more expensive.
Inverter issues are usually ON/OFF screen. Either it works or not
