Contact the company. There might be a fee, if your system not under warranty.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

I have a gateway mx6920 and is trying to do a factory restore. when i go to f11 the recovery start but at the end it show system restore envionment is incomplete. then it ask for a cd

This error is caused when your restore files are corrupt. If you have the system cd that came with your pc, you can restore your pc and the restore drive. If you do not have the cd, check Gateway's support website for restore ISO file for your model of pc.

Good Luck

I would like to upgrade the e-machine T6414 to 4 GB - 4 or two memory chips. What manufacturer will provide the best price for the right product? What is the type of memory I have to purchase? thank you

Welcome to Fixya!

You are right, the maximum RAM that your machine can take is 4gb. To maximize the capability of the machine, it is always recommended to have the ram chips in pairs.

I have used Kingston in the past and I have always been happy with them. I also work for an online computer store, and we have always used Kingston for our ram upgrades.

The type of RAM that you need is a PC3200 (400MHz) non-ECC Unbuffered CL3 DIMM. Kingston's part number for the 2gb kit (2 pcs of 1gb ) is KVR400X64C3AK2/2G and you can get two of this kit to give you 4gb.

I hope this helps. Happy Holidays!

Multimedia card reader, resources not available

You may be able to use the driver at the link below.
If this does not work, try searching other model numbers that are close by. I have the T6414 and the card reader looks the same as yours.

Is there system restore downloads to make CD for Gtwy MCE?

Well a restore CD/DVD can be created by you and kept for your use in case any crash(system) and anyway you can keep on working and save your work as we normally do. You can also create the restore CD now if you want to!............sodeep

If you don't have the restore CD there is no way you can restore that model to factory settings. Some (most?) newer models have the restore information, including the Operating system and any other factory installed programs on a separate partition, allowing you to start up from that partition and restore your OS, etc. From that partition, but the 240 needs the restore disks.
Sorry for the bad news, but I hope this answered your question.
