Question about Kenmore 73502 / 73504 / 73509 Bottom Freezer Refrigerator

No water is going onto the ice maker (Maytag Model # MZD2766gew)

I replaced the dual valve water inlet with no luck resolving my problem

i checked the water line from the valve to the back of the freezer and it is clear.

the water fountain on the door is fully operational.

i removed the power harness from the fountain and switched it to the icemaker side of the valve to check if both valves are working, when u power that harness by pushing on the water fountain the valve then sent water up to the ice maker.

my problem lies in getting power sent to the water valves to pump the water up to the ice maker.

i dont know where to go from here.

any help would be greatly appreciated!!

No water going into ice maker or my Kemore elite Trio model 795.77573600. I poured some water in the mold and it froze and was ejected just fine. Any repair tips?

    Thanks

We have the same Kenmore Trio and no water is going to the icemaker. We have the water "fountain" inside the fridge and that works fine so water IS getting to the fridge but there is no water getting to the icemaker. When I put water in the tray, it will freeze and eject. But it won't make ice on its own. I'm pretty handy and should be able to fix this on my own, if I know what to do. Please help.

The water solenoid valve is normally triggered by the ice maker itself. as it turn to harvest the ice, it should trigger the water solenoid valve to start another cycle of ice making. its either a wire harness problem that's why power is not getting to the valve or the triggering switch of the ice maker not sending power to the solenoid. i hope i was able to help you guys...

Water and ice dispenser stopped working

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. If both water and ice dispensers are not working then it can be an issue with the water inlet valve going bad. . To start with check the water line attached to the back of the refrigerator for good water flow. To do that, first turn off the water supply valve. Then remove the water line from the back of the refrigerator. Next, place the water line into a bucket and momentarily turn the water valve back on to test the flow. If the flow is poor, you need to repair, clean, or replace the tubing or the shut-off valve that supplies the water. If the flow is good, you may have to replace the water inlet valve. If still the issue is not resolved then remove the ice bin, Remove the wires from the auger motor. With the freezer door open and the door switch depressed, push the ice cube release and check for 120VAC between the motor wires. If there is 120VAC then the motor has gone bad. If there is no 120VAC then the control board (module time delay) has to be replaced. Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Icemaker won't fill tray,

Was the inlet tube frozen. If so your water inlet valve on the back where the water supply comes in is probably leaking and when the water reaches the freezer it freezes, blocking the inlet tube. Replace the water inlet valve.
You can Try swapping the wires on the dual water inlet valve. Then try the water dispenser. The water should go to the ice maker. This will tell you weather or not the ice maker valve is working and if the line is clear.

The water inlet valve may be staying open. You can swap the wires on the dual water inlet valve and disconnect the water line at the valve which goes to the ice maker. When you try the water dispenser the water will come out there. When you stop the water dispenser, if the water at the valve doesn't stop, the valve isn't closing so you'll need to replace it. If it does stop after trying it several times then the problem is with the ice maker.

The water inlet valve on the back of unit opens when the ice maker needs water. If the valve doesn't seal good because of sediment or wear it will continue to drip and when the water reaches the ice maker supply tube it will freeze. You can take the water line off the valve and watch to see if it drips.

A strainer before the inlet valve can also get stopped up restricting flow.

No water to icemaker

Ok, you will need to test the operational value of the dual water inlet valve assembly. the ice maker side of the dual valve assembly may be stuck or malfunctioning. replace this valve if found to be faulty. i would also make sure that the lines to the ice maker are not frozen.

setting the temp below the factory settings can create a freezing affect of the water lines running to the ice maker. check this out.

In most cases, your water valve assembly will be this issue.
