This is the most common failure in digital camera's next to battery problems, the fault is caused by a problem in the tiny electrically driven gear drive that moves the lens of the camera to auto focus, now you say great how do i fix this?? well there is the problem, Panasonic doesn't sell any parts or repair manuals for their camer's to the public, without the needed parts and information on how to take the camera apart u are stuck, the bottom line is you will have to send it back to a factory authorized repair station, the phone number for this is in the user manual for the camera, they may also offer an exchange program or discounted upgrade to the newest version of your camera, call them for more information

System Error (Focus)

The systems control board has detected a problem with the auto focus lens, the focus is controlled by a tiny motor that has jammed or there is a mechanical issue with the camera lens. It will require a technician that is highly skilled to deal with the situation, but the repair cost would probably not be justified.

Same message keep popping up

This means:

Force has been applied to lens (or other componant) and camera could not operate correctly.

Do the following:

1. Turn off the camera.
2. Remove your SD card, and battery
3. Wait a few minutes.
4. Insert the card and battery again.
5. If it lets you, change the settigs to the original position. (Reset the camera)
6. If the problem persist then compare the warranty and the usage period. I
7. Consult the dealer or your nearest service center if display still remains.

Regards.

Message PLEASE TURN CAMERA OFF THEN ON AGAIN

Sometimes this message appears when force has been applied to the lens. Here are some things to try. Go into the setup menu and find "reset" to reset the camera. If that doesn't work, remove the card and battery...press all the buttons...insert the card and then the battery. You may have a lens problem that can only be repaired at a service facility.

Looks like a problem with the CCD sensor. Try removing batteries, and SD card for 5 minutes. Replace new batteries and try again.
If issue persists, you will have to get the piece serviced.

Problem

I had the same problem and fixed it.
The problem is related to the lens not working properly and jammed up.
When powering on the camera, the focus goes in and out and the lens spin and then the message is displayed to turn camera off. When I turn the camera off, I noticed the lens did not fully hiberate into the camera like it did before the error message.

So to fix the problem I did the following:
Turn the camera on, when the lens extended out, I slightly rotated the outer most lens clockwise and counterclockwise to free the lens from the jammed position.

The error no longer appeared and the camera stayed-on.When I shut the power-off the lens completely hibernated again like normal.

Hope this helps.

Pete
