I believe the leak is because the condensate drain line is blocked and in one moment I will send you to some pages that addresses that problem.

The lights on the refrigerator side have shut off and a nose from the bottom of the fridge starts as soon as you open the door.

Pull off the rear access panel covering the compressor in the lower rear of the fridge. Have someone open the door and you may hear the sound in a control panel mounted on the left hand side of the opening. If so you need to replace the control board.

Hi, my Whirlpool fridge is not cold even though I had turned it up to 3/4 of the cold dial. Ice does not form in the top compartment.

If there is no frost on the rear wall inside the freezer and the fan in the freezer is working , pull the refrig out and feel if the compressor is running . If not running , tap on the temp dial , firmly , and see if the compressor starts . If it does , replace the thermostat ( part behind the dial ) . If it does not start , replace the overload/relay , which is plugged onto the side of the compressor , with 2 or 3 wires going to it . If the compressor IS running , remove the inside freezer panel ( remove the ice maker if it has one ) and see if the coils are frosted . If so , then you have a defrost problem , which will be a different set of instructions .

Refrigerator keeps running The compressor is not shutting off regardless of how cold it gets. If the temp is set at 35 for the frig and 0 for the freezer, the compressor keeps running even when the temp...

your cold-control that you adjust has gone out,be it dial adjust or electronic unplug the dial one and see it will shut down,be careful on unplugging on an electronically controlled unit as you can ruin the control board if not powered down before board is unplugged

Whirlpool model ed5fhgxkq03 side by side. Lights

check your temp controll to make sure it isnt broken or open circuit also your defrost timer could be stuck in defrost! next check your compressor for running and see if it is hot!! or just warm? if it is just warm and cycling /running then your low on freon due to a internal leak

Clunk noise when compressor shuts off

Good day,
Compressor has an internal problem. Usually caused by a broken centering spring inside the compressor housing.
Only solution is replacing the compressor.
The good news is they can run for along time that way.

Whirlpool Model ED5SHAXML12 is freezing food in refrigerator even when dial is at off. Happened from one day to the next.

At the refrig controls , the freezer control , controls how much air goes into the refrigerator section . Open the refrig door , and up at the top left , put your hand over the damper (air vent) . Turn the freezer control from high to low , and feel the difference in the air flow . If you turn your freezer control to a lower setting , less cold air will enter the refrig . Think of it as : the freezer control adjusts the temperature , and the refrig control , tells how long to run the compressor . In actuality , this is how it works . However , with the dial (refrigerator thermostat) in the off position and refrig still running , this indicates a bad thermostat . Pt # 2198202 .

Whirlpool fridge incessant buzzing

The knocking noise when cuts off , is a compressor internal motor support spring , broken . This does not mean the compressor is bad , only noisy for the rest of the compressor life , but should be covered under the 5 yr warranty . The gurgling sound is the refrigerant being pumped thru the system . The buzzing could be from the compressor also . My suggestion , would be to call a factory warranty company , to see if they can replace the compressor under warranty .

Food in my refrigerator freezes I have a top freezer maytag

There are 2 things to check - Your cold control dial - to rule out a thermostat problem lower it to 1 gradually and slowly until you hear a click and it shuts off - If it does not shut off, and only shuts off if you set it to the OFF position, then you have a thermostat problem and your compressor is continually running, freezing things in your refrigerator. If lowering your dial you hear a click and compressor shuts off, then the solution is to lower your dial, you have it set too cold - There is a thermostat in your refrigerator that should shut things off when it is cool enough it's either not working properly or your dial is set too cold.

Unit shut down for 24 to 36 hrs whith power to it/ lights inside still worked

By shut down I'm assuming you mean the compressor does not come on. Does your unit use dials or electronic controls ? Try raising the dial to max and see if compressor kicks in - otherwise unplug the fridge for a few minutes and plug it back in to see if it resets - you either have a shot compressor or a faulty control board (faulty control board being more common) followed by stuck defrost timer.
