Re: faulty cordless phone handset

An initial simple check you can make is to make sure that the secrecy or mute button is not activated or stuck, however as you say that the phone is brand new, I would strongly advise you to contact the vendor immediately and ask for it to be replaced as it is faulty.

Why can't the caller hear me?

First, call a different number and see if its your phone or the receiver's phone. Second, if they can't hear you, this could mean that your phone line was improperly connected. Get another phone to check if your line works both sending and receiving; (have someone call you back). (Good idea to keep an old fashioned corded phone as a back-up in case of power failure.) If the line checks out, then the phone's microphone is faulty. If under warranty, contact Uniden. If not, chuck it. Although unrelated, remember cordless phone batteries only last two years so plan on replacing them.

My att cordless phone mics went dead - on all three handsets!!! People call in, I can hear them and they can hear me. I call out, I can hear them but they cannot hear me. Any fixes? Phones are barely 3...

It's not that the handsets have bad mics, the problem is in the base unit. That's what's sending audio into the phone line, and something has gone wrong there. Try unplugging the power from the base and give it a minute, then reconnect the power. This will allow the computer inside to reset and may straighten out the trouble. If it doesn't, you're probably best off replacing the system.

AT&T doesn't say anything on their site about service, just to call their Customer Support and Service Center at 1-800-222-3111 for more information. If your phone is out of warranty, it's probably easier and maybe less expensive to buy new.

Will accept calls can hear other party but anable to hear me .non rechargable have been mistakenly used

The units microphone is not working because of this issue with a non rechargable used this happens when oyu go and charge it, causes a backflow into the phones logistics making it unusable so you would need to ether buy a new handset or replace the whole unit.

Can't be heard

Sounds like you have a defective microphone in your handset. Maybe caused by dropping of phone or water damage. Try land line phone not cordless. Just to ensure that you can hear the caller and can be heard over your phone line.

If you can complete a call successfully go and purchase another cordless phone.

Calling party cannot here receiving party

This can be one of a couple of things. First of all, if this is a multi-handset phone, go off hook on two handsets at the same time and see if you can hear yourself in both phones (Speak into one while listening to the other) If it is only a single handset phone, do the same thing only with another phone. If you cannot hear anything coming from the uniden phone, it may have a bad mic in the handset and would need to be replaced. (the handset not the mic) If you bought it less then a year ago and still have the receipt, call uniden at 18002971023 and they will help you get it replaced.

Handset not working

I had this exact problem. My solution was to clean the top of the condensor microphone. Something was spilled onto the phone and ran down into the hole that leads to the microphone. It not only affected the microphone, but made some of the buttons stick as well. The phone is not difficult to disassemble, just try not to touch the electronic components. If you are experienced in electronics, you may know that using a wrist strap( available at electronics supply stores or online) and grounding yourself will help protect the electronics. While you are at it, get some pure isoproply alcohol, and some cotton swabs, making sure that the swab is saturated with the alcohol. Just clean around the interior area of the phone where the condensor microphone is. You will want to even remove the black screen over the microphone to be sure everything is clean!!! Make sure the little hole that leads from the front of the phone to the microphone is clear and clean. I believe you will solve your problem.

Mic not working.

It worked well for me too! Thanks!! I was told I had to buy a new phone because the microphone went back. Took the receiver apart (4 screws in back of handset and 2 that held the board in place), cleaned mic with alcohol and a q-tip, and removed the rubber piece that kept the mic clean (inside of the housing), and presto, it worked just fine. The ribbon cable came loose upon opening up inside of phone, but I stuck it back inside the top of base and I was ready to go.
