Canon Sure Shot 105 ZOOM ~TOTALLY LOST ~need any instructions I can get.

Bought a new battery & film for the Canon Sure Shot 105 Zoom, my sister just gave me. The display screen has a constant, flashing "H". No idea what "H" means, really don't know how to turn it on or take a picture. Please Help!!!!

I went to turn on the camera to make pictures. It was on #22 of 24. The battery flashed so I changed out the battery to a new one. An H flashes where the # is and it will not open at all. I had a lady at the drug store take out the film for developing, but it still does the same thing with the H.

    Thanks for any imput, slowdown27@hotmail.com

The flashing H means hat the camera has detected a hardware fault on starting up. It can also mean that the film has mis-loaded. Try removing the film & then the battery to reset it. Put the battery back & switch on. If it's still doing it then I'm afraid it's got the 'flashing "H" of Doom'. Although this is repairable, it's usually not economically viable.

There is a flashing H instead of how many exposures are left

Turn the power off and on. If the H is still displayed, replace the battery.
The above is from page 39 of the manual.

I have an old Canon 105 zoom sure shot. I want to get the old film out but the battery is dead. I don't want to purchase a new battery. How can I accomplish this? Thank you reedcm@verizon.net

If you have a changing bag, you can put the camera inside, open the back, remove the film, and rewind it by hand. You can also do the same in a darkroom (a photographic darkroom, not just a dark room). A good camera store can do it, though you'll probably also have to have the film processed there.

If you have any plans to use the camera in the future, you may as well invest in a battery now. You can take the battery out of the camera and set it aside to preserve the charge.

I am unable to get a new battery for Canon Cure Chot ZOOM-S. Please can you help?

The Sure Shot Zoom S uses a 2CR5 6V lithium battery. You should be able to find one at an electronics or office-supply store. If all else fails,

Camera froze up Type Canon Sure Shot ZOOM-S

Sounds like the film either didn't advance thru the camera or its been rewound.

Here's a copy of the user manual:

No need for manual it is just an aim and shoot camera it has two modes auto and program. You better use auto mode.

Instructions

There are two conditions under which a blinking "H" will appear in the
LCD panel: (1) when the film has been loaded incorrectly or (2) when the
camera's self-test process detects an internal malfunction. If a
blinking "H" indication appears, perform the following operations in
attempt to resolve the situation:

1. Rewind and remove the film using the rewind button, then remove the
battery to clear the memory.

2. Clean the contacts at the base of the battery compartment with a
clean pencil eraser to ensure proper contact between the camera and
battery.

3. Replace the battery, power the camera back up1.gif and operate it as if
it had film loaded, pressing the shutter release.
