Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Flashing underscore in top left screen

It may be caused if there is any CD/DVD in the drive. If yes, please take the disk out the computer will boot up.

If no, then it is problem with Operating System or some hardware. If hardware, you need to find the CMOS Battery, a small cell (like a watch cell) on Motherboard and reset it.

Please revert back to me if this doesn't fix the problem.

My laptop IBM 2652 is locked .A padlock appears at top left of screen.I would appreciate help in unlocking and returning it to factory settings. My user guide is lost.

The Thinkpad is locked with a Power On Password and its purpose is to prevent unauthorized access to the laptop..
This password is set from the BIOS configuration.
Removing the BIOS battery to set the BIOS back to the factory default will not remove the password because it is stored on an EEPROM chip on the motherboard.
There is a way to remove this password, but it requires electronic knowledge and soldering skills. Please click on this link and follow my instructions.

Laptop BIOS passwords are kept in a special password chip. On some laptops these chips are replaceable and there are a number of places you can buy this. PWcrack.com for one.
