New heat exchanger fitted still not heating

The heat exchanger is everything above the fire and makes the heat available for ducting. The combustion chamber supply\'s heat to it from either a burner or heating elements. Does your burner light or elements get hot? Check for power turned off.?

Upsstair shower doesn't supply continuous hot water, downstair works great. Water pressure problem?

It could be a water pressure problem but most water supply companies put out enough pressure for a 2 story house (or even 4 stories) easily. Can you clarify what you mean by continuous? Does the water get cold, on and off (i.e. no hot water) or does it vary in temperature mildly?

Alpha 240e boiler wont fire up for hot water, will for heating

most likely the diverter valve.. when hot tap turned on the movement of the water through the valve operates a diaphragm which pushes a pin/button//switch to tell the boiler to fire up

My boiler needs cleaning. How do i clean it safley

You turn off the heat source, Attach a water hose to the drain at the bottom of the heater and drain it with supply inlet turned off. For it to drain faster, turn one of your tub or shower faucet, hot water side on so that the heater can get air. You can also pull up on the leaver of the T&P valve so that it can draw air from both sources just in case there is water trapped in the hot water side and it can't breath. After it is drained, you will leave the drain open and then turn the inlet supply back on and run for about 15 minutes. That should take care of it. Make sure that the heater is filled to capacity BEFORE turning the heat source back on.

Not enough hot water. I have an Amtrol Extrol coil water heater

Since you mentioned 'both temperatures' it seems your unit is like most all of them, a lower and upper coil.
If your hot water supply runs out quickly, this normally means that the lower coil has failed. Since heat rises, the upper coil will never supply a tankful of hot water, just hot to start, and then as the flow continues, it doesn't have time to do more than warm the water flowing into the tank.
Every home should now own a simple digital multimeter; they cost less than $20 US everywhere and one can find them in auto parts stores, electronic supply companies and tool companies.
If you have a Harbor Freight tool store in your area, you can get them for under $10 US any time and sometimes even less:
Digital meter
You need to be absolutely certain that the voltage to the water heater is shut down. Before you measure anything else, set the meter to its highest AC setting and check across the coils and then from either contact to the metal housing. If it is dead everywhere, then set the meter to the lowest Ohms scale (normally 200). The resistance of the coil should be nearly the same reading as when you simply short the meter's probe tips together. If it measures 'OL' then the coil is open and must be replaced.

Running water in 2 sinks just to get hot water from a bosch

you can put in a circulatating pump that is controller with a timer and a thermostat so the when yo need heat water the most its readilly available and when you don't it's off, the only thinsg thing that you would have to do it tye in the supply and the return and then insulate the pipes.
