It did it again and I did as suggested. The error code flashed was 1 flash followed by 2 quick flashes. What does that

    mean? Thanks.

Sorry, but I don't have an esr meter. I'm not sure but I think the caps I used as replacements wer 25vdc and 1000uf. I am sure

though the caps I replaced were all together.

The fuses are good. I checked all inputs and found that 1, 2 & 3 are not recognized when screen turns blue but the card slots are but the are very distorted. The analog or rf input is ok. Any ideas?

When it shuts down, try pushing the input and menu buttons together on the tv and hold them for 5 seconds , and see if it blinks a 2 digit code . If it does let me know the sequence of the blinks. If not then its not going into protective shutdown, so its probaly one of the low voltage regulators. Let me know what you discover with the input and menu buttons.

12 is the code that says no problems. The 4 capacitors you replaced were the 4 all together on the upper left corner of the board Jamicon brand? You have probaly got a bad capacitor still on that board. Do you hav an esr meter where you can check the capacitors in circuit? What were the uf ratings of the caps you replaced?

You may want to check to see if the pico fuses are still okay. They are the little ceramis fuses solderd to the back side of the circuits on the traces . Check continuity with an ohms meter.

When I turn the TV on it goes to the blue screen but nothing works then the TV powers off on its own.

Blue screen usually indicates no input. Check the input selection. Check the cables from the source. If everything is correct, try this: unplug the TV, press and hold the power button for 30 seconds, repeat. Plug it back in and try again.

Tv shuts off sporadically, and now won't recieve any video signal

Check the solder on the vertical output IC this is a common problem and can cause loss of video while sound remains and often will shut the set down with a vertical deflection error

Black horizontal lines appear after tv is on for 30 minutes

I had the same problem with our VS-55705 Mitsubishi. It seemed to me that this was a problem of heat.

I unplugged the TV and then took the cover off of the back of the it. I then used canned air to blow off the collection of dust from the components. Then I vacuumed as close to everything as I could without touching any of the components. I then used glass cleaner to clean up the surface of the three bulbs.

I plugged in the TV and it has worked perfect ever since. I haven't put the rear cover back on it yet. That could have been all that I needed to do to fix it. I'm too busy enjoying a nice picture to try putting it back on. Cleaning the bulbs really helped the quality of the picture.

Good Luck!
