Question about Toshiba TEC B-472 Thermal Label Printer

1 Answer

How do we embed into a Windows report, commands for a Tec B472

My problem is that 180 degree rotated fields are skipped by the Seagull version 7.18 (August 2009) driver. I am using FastReport as a label designer in my Delphi application. It is a label that must be folded in 2 (ski tickets), thus the need to have mirror images of two fields on the label. The PC command allows for 0, 90, 180, 270 degree rotations with codes 00,11,22,33. The label is as follows : Adult 11/19/2009 ---------------------------------------------------------- fold 11/19/2009 (rotated 180) Adult (rotated 180) Since the 180 degree rotated fields are not picked up by the driver, I would like to embed them directly into my Windows report with some sort of escape sequence that the driver would recognise and just issue them to the printer without transforming them in any way. I have tried, but the driver generates some garbage. The printer commands generated are the following : The 2 lines in blue below, lines 5 and 6, don't get generated by the driver because of the 180 degree rotation. 1. TEC BARCODE PRINTER JOB START
2. {D0300,0776,0270|}
3. {C|}
4. {PC000;0548,0191,15,15,H,22,B=Adult|}
5. {PC001;0515,0094,15,15,H,22,B=11/19/2009|} 6. {PC001;0615,0094,15,15,H,00,B=11/19/2009|} 7. {PC000;0748,0191,15,15,H,00,B=Adult|} 8. {XS;I,0001,0000D6110|}
9. TEC BARCODE PRINTER PAGE END
10. TEC BARCODE PRINTER JOB END Thus I would like to know how to get them to generate automatically or how to embed the commands directly into the report. I would generate the appropriate values for the fields B=. Thanks, Gilles GGGolf

Hi Gilles483,

If you want to use a printer in windows, create a Generic text printer in the correct port and send the commands.

Hi there, I am printing on Zebra S600 using Seagull Scientific Driver, The printer only prints every alternate label that is prints one label and prints a blank. Thank you for your help

Skipping labels is usually a printer driver issue. You should use Seagull Scientific printer driver only if you are using the corresponding Seagull Scientific label design software. It is important to have the printer driver and label design software be from the same manufacturer.

No. The change must be made in the software that you are creating the label design in. Let me know if this helps!

Check to see what printer driver you are using. If you are using Seagull Scientific Bartender, you will need the printer driver from Seagull Scientific for it to print properly. You can download it from the Seagull website. Hope this helps!!

An extra, blank label prints from a Zebra 2746e.

Check media settings in the printer driver. Check version of printer driver. Zebra printersuse an internal printer driver with their Zebra Designer software (Zdesigner driver) or a ZUD (Zebra Universal Driver) for other windows applications. These drivers can be downloaded directly from the zebra website.

Alternatively you can download the seagull scientific driver and use that instead. (used with bartender program)

Label skipping occurs if the media dimensions are not specified correctly. The important ones are label height, and media setting for type of media.

Perform a media calibration before you go changing settings. Power on printer, Hold top and bottom buttons in on control panel for 5 seconds, release bottom button only then when printer starts feeding labels release top button. When printer finishes press feed button.
