Question about Vibe CBR10 Car Subwoofer

1 Answer

The woofer wont turn off

My friend installed these speakers for me. He did connect a blue wire from the CD player to the subwoofer so that it automatically switches off once the CD player is turned off. However, it does not work. It might be because he connected the wrong wire, but the subwoofer does not turn on if I take the blue wire off. This is giving me a lot of problem because if I forget to remove the power wire from the Sub, I will have a dead battery next morning.

Thank you Rucker26 for replying...sorry for explaining the situation properly...the woofer I have has a built in amp so the connection are as you have explained to the amp. however I suspect the problem is in the connection from the CD player 2 the amp the remote cable). do you know much bout wiring from the CD player.

I was hoping I will hear this...lol...I did look it up on the internet and wanted to confirm it 100% before I do anything to the cd player. Thank u very much for confirming this...but there are I think 2 blue wires...just not sure which one..lol.

    Thank u once again!

The only wires that should be going to the subs are the Speaker wire, The power, goes to the amp, Blue the remote wire should only go to the remote spot on the amp wich is usually labeled rem. and the ground all goes to the amp.

Yea, What you need to do is check the back of your cd player and see if the blue wire is connected to just the blue wire. And on the amp just go to the amp and look to see if it is in the REM port Also known as Remote port.

sometimes units work in tandem, meaning if your system set up is working right when everything is connected and now its not working because the woofer is not connected then your system works in tandem, once all of the speakers are connected the system will work as it should,(sometimes these units work when all wires are connected, take 1 wire out of the equation and the system wont function properly, ( you'll be fine when your woofer gets back in line!)

it sounds like you need to turn on our amplifier. this is simple and easy to do just by connecting the blue/white wire off of the back of the radio to the blue wire on the harness that connects to the factory harness.

it sounds like you are using the blue wire (antenna remote turn on) instead of the blue/white (amplifier remote turn on) wire to turn your amplifier on.

When the radio is on the sound comes out of all the speakers. when the cd player is on the sound only comes out of the sub woofer

are you running separate amps for the woofer and speakers??? sounds like you have the woofer amp being turned on be the amp remote wire (blue/white) and the speaker amp turned on with the power antenna remote wire (blue). if this is the case you need to use the blue/white to turn both amps on.

Connection of a subwoofer to Yamaha ZX-V490

Get a powered sub-woofer that has speaker level inputs, then run your front speaker wires into the sub-woofers speaker level input and then run a set of speaker wires from the sub-woofers speaker wire output to your front speakers. This is a common way to use a sub-woofer with a receiver that doesn't have a sub-woofer output.

Most powered sub-woofers have these connections, just check it out first before you buy one. They look like speaker jacks on the back of the receiver.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Installation Help

This means that you have purchased a three piece home theatre system. Two tweeters and a sub-woofer. Assuming you are using a Stereo player (Tape/CD/DVC)you have to connect the Left Output of the Stereo placer to the Left Input at the back of the Sub-Woofer and the Right output to the Right input of the subwoofer by cables. Then take tweeters and connect them to Right speaker and Left speaker output at the back of the sub-woofer ( note if the speakers are marked L/R, then connect them to the subwoofer output accordingly. In case you are using a 5.1 player, then only connect the front right and front left to the Right and Left input at the back of the subwoofer. You are and you can now start playing your music or movies and and you will get theatre quality sound.
