Question about Kenmore 54622 / 54624 Side by Side Refrigerator

1 Answer

The handle was broken off. How do I attach a new handle to the freezer compartment. I have tried to super glue; but of course some of the inside of the handle was broken out so the superglue doesn't hold. This is for a Model #253.5462240B

The plastic used for these does not take glues well. Get a replacement handle. Find your part number then search on ebay for a much better price(in most cases)

The plastic tray at bottom in the fridge just above freezer compartment has a slight crack. Can this be repaired

Hi, they can be repaired with a plastic solvent glue usually comes in tubes. Make sure the tray is dry and at room temperature before putting the glue on. It should slightly melt the plastic and fuse it together. I would put another coat of glue on once the first coat is dry.

I have a 36 volt recepicating saw. the handle is

There may be an underlying problem inside the handle. Sometimes the little nubs where the screws anchor crack inside the handle and will just turn when you try to tighten or loosen the screw. If you cannot back off the screw from the handle the nub is more than likely broken off from the handle. If this is the case you should order a new handle set from dewalt. You can then remove all the screws and then the little nub with a set of locking pliers. You could try to super glue the small piece back to the handle but it will fail eventually. If you have any questions please post back.

Broken flash handle

Loctite makes a glue suitable for this type of repair. It is very strong and does not melt the plastic if too much is applies, unlkie super glue.
