You can just replace the keyboard itself. Replacements are available on eBay on the cheap :)

Soft drinks are the worst, sugar! Unplug, remove battery, dissemble and get access to all connection to the keyboard, usually a ribbon cable, or other connector/plug. Use Electronic Contact Cleaner Spray on the connections and connectors. Sometimes the magic works, sometimes it doesn't.

My daughter split a drink on my laptop and it was throwing all sorts up at me. I left it to dry out for a couple of days and all the keys started to work correctly apart from the O and L. I can press the...

Replace the laptop's Keyboard janebowman77.

Feel lucky that so far the laptop is working.
When a spill occurs on a laptop ALL power is hurriedly removed. [AC adapter {Charger} and Battery]

Then the laptop is disassembled to gain access to the internal hardware, and it is dried as well as possible.

The drink may do additional damage as time goes on. Especially if the drink contains acids, such as pop, and fruit juices.
As for a quick fix on those two keys, IMHO no.

Is a repair possible? Perhaps.

Let's look at the basic construction of an average laptop keyboard,

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/9/97/Keyboard_Construction.JPG

(You can click on the photo to enlarge)

As you can see there is the Keyboard face with the mechanical keys, to the left side of the photo.

Moving to the layer immediately to the right, are carbon buttons embedded in a plastic sheet.
These are just contacts. They close, (Or complete) a circuit. They are 1/2 of a switch.
(Momentary Contact Switch)

The next layer to the right has the circuitry, and the other half of the switch.
Each 'S' you see is the other half of the switch.

The plastic key face is depressed. This in turn presses against the carbon button, which touches the 'S' shape.

The round flat shape of the carbon button touches enough of the 'S', to momentarily allow electricity to pass from one side of the 'S', to the other side of the 'S'.

The green lines you see are circuit traces imbedded into the plastic sheet. The circuit traces are covered, or insulated by the plastic sheet, and are exposed at the 'S' shape.
(A circuit trace is essentially a very flat, copper wire)

The drink has left residue in-between the carbon button, and the 'S'.

If the Keyboard were removed, and the residue removed, there may be a chance these particular keys (O and L) may work again.

HOWEVER, the keyboard may, or may, not be of a design where the Keyboard can be taken apart.
These particular units have plastic sprues ('Posts') that go through the layers, and have the tips melted into a 'mushroom head'.

There are those Keyboards that Do come apart, however. There are small screws to remove.

After taking the Keyboard apart, one has to make a decision whether the circuitry is repairable, can be repaired on a temporary basis, or is beyond repair.

{ Temporary basis would be that the drink did contain acids, and over time the contact face of the circuit traces is corroded. Cleaning the contact surfaces of the carbon button, and the 'S' area, may result in usage over a temporary basis. Just depends on damage occurred so far ]

Easier repair?
Replace the Keyboard.

If you list the laptop manufacturer's name, and model number (Bottom of laptop), I may be able to post a link to a free Service Manual, also guidance from me, and link to a replacement Keyboard.
Post in a Comment.

[Replacing a Keyboard is very easy on some laptop models. On others the 'difficulty rating' goes up, but it doesn't take a rocket scientist ]

Drink split on keys, now has fading to white screen. big problem.

Well if the motherboard is replaced, it is probably a problem with the laptop monitor. If this is the case, at this point, it's probably cheaper to buy a new laptop.

If you spill drinks on a keyboard, something is bound to break, and apparantly only the O key did... The only way to fix it is to get a new keyboard, I'm sorry. I hope this helps, Yannick.

Laptop keyboard not operational

If you replaced the keyboard with a Dell replacement 1501 keyboard and it still doesn’t work then yes the motherboard will probably have to be replaced. If your son spilled water on the laptop it could clear up after it completely dries. If it was juice, soft drink or sport drink the laptop could develop other issues. The syrup in these kinds of drinks don’t evaporate, they just remain there and accumulate foreign particles like dust, hair, dirt and eventually start to corrode electrical contacts like acid. Similar to the terminal posts on a car battery.
