Question about ViewSonic VA2226w 22" Widescreen LCD Monitor

2 Answers

I have a ViewSonic VA2226w 22-inch Wide LCD monitor and just last night it had problems where the screen is faded out on the left side (vertically) and all my icons were a bit faded with horizontal white lines on the right side, like it was a cartoon running ( I guess it would fall under the cataglory of ghosts on the screen. I tried downloading and installing the latest drivers and that seem to help, but as time progressed the problem came back, but not as extreme. I generally shut the monitor when I don't use it, but I sometimes forget. Overnight the problem was gone. How do I fix this problem, I know it's gone for now, but it may be back in an hour.

Its a panel problem. You need to change your monitor panel or you have to buy another one :( and if it has warranty left then go to the servicing center

SOURCE: Monitor is vertical display instead of horizontal display

Hi...there! Kazz,
Go to your toolbars bottom R/H corner and look for the VGA settings icon ( nVidia or ATI). Right click on that...and look for rotation settings, from there just followed the settings... Have nice day!

You may have problem in the power supply, see my pictures here so you will know what to look for if you want to DIY: http://s807.photobucket.com/albums/yy352/budm/Viewsonic%20VX2235W/
Hopefully not the LCD panel (I never have to replace one yet in this model).

Have somebody take a look at the capacitors in the power supply first, look for caps that are leaking/bulging top, very common failure in LCD monitor.

SOURCE: Viewsonic - VA2226w - dual

Swap this monitor with the main one.
If it works, you may simply not have the secondary output enabled in the operating system.

In Windows for example, in the video properties, there's a place where you choose which video card you're dealing with (and/or which output or monitor) and there's a checkbox that says "extend my desktop to this monitor"
If that's not enabled, monitor 2 will be blank !

If the monitor doesn't work in the same connector that the working monitor is in, you may have bad capacitors in this one.

Watch the video below on how to fix that issue.

Can I fix a flickering band on VP2250wb?

It sounds like one of the backlights are going, or one of the inverter transformer and there are two capacitors near the inverter transformers that do give trouble. The monitor would need to be dismantled to investigate the problem and it will involve money, since it is four years old I would be inclined leave it alone until a new one is required.

Try holding the vol+ & vol- or hold the vol+ & Menu and lastly try the ch+ & ch- buttons. When doing this you must do it from the tv not the remote, and hold them down for ten seconds or until it says it has unlocked.
