How do I do a reset?

We don't know what 'this model' is?

Easy way is to remove the wall plug and count to 10 and then plug it back in.

Another way is to hold the ON button for 10 seconds.

Dependent on models though.

Shuts down and gives me failure E 1 on the card and will not start

E1 = The air filters need cleaning (after 720 Hours use)
It will shut down until you clean the filters & reset the E1 alarm code.
To do this you need to:
Pull the Air Con appliance lead out of the power outlet in the wall.
Remove & Clean the air filters & then put the cleaned filters back in machine
Before plugging back in you Push & Hold the Power button on the Unit
THEN while holding the power button you PLUG the lead back into the wall.
Keep Holding the power button until you hear the unit emit a beep (hold for approx 5 secs)
Then disconnect the power supply lead again.
Then Plug it back in again & turn on
It should be cleared & working well.
Good luck

I've installed many DW's and haven't seen a reset on one. Take in mind, not saying that they're couldn't be one, but I doubt it IMHO. I've been installing all appliances proffessionally for 10 years and it just doesn't seem like there could be one.

Have you check your washing machine plug behind the machine to see if it's a GFCI plug? I've seen it happen where a consumer had done something electrical in the home and it tripped. They bought a new machine and we showed them that it was the outlet, they didn't even know that they had one behind the machine. I know this doesn't help much but good luck in the problem solving.

This is most likely a hardware issue that coincidentally happened at the same time as you were restarting your computer. Something inside your computer could be having problems or overheating. I would guess power supply first. Try this though, as it just might need to be reset:

1) Unplug the computer power cord from the wall for 1 minute. Plug it back in to the wall. Try to start your computer. If this does not resolve your issue...try step 2.

2) You need to reset your BIOS. Refer to the follow link to accomplish this: Reset BIOS HowTo

Dead refrigerator.

We weren't able to find a "Reset" button anywhere on the fridge, so I turned it off, unplugged it, waited 24 hours, and plugged it back in. The lights came on and I, then, turned it back on. It's working fine and keeping ice cubes frozen. Whew! That was a relief!

Thanx for your website.

Have you checked the fuse[s]? You don't mention your location so I cannot comment of what protection devices that may be involved. UK has fused 13amp wall plugs for example.

Printer won't turn on

Same thing happen to me. There was a lightning storm on Saturday night so, even though I have a surge protector, I assume my MP830 took a surge. HERE IS THE SOLUTION! If you unplug the printer (pull the plug!) for at least 20 minutes (which lets the system discharge) then plug it back in, the system is allowed to reset and will fire back up when you press the power button. I know the above post is an old one, but I'm hoping this will help other searchers like me.
