Depending on model of baler/belts you would shave of enough rubber to get a smooth surface.then put tool in vise with fastener in it,be sure pin is in slot when crimping or fastener teeth will not be squared up in belt and make it hard to get belt pin lined up when putting back together. Is there paper along each side of fastener? If so leave it there until done crimping.

I agree with him. If you do what he says the baler belt should go on smoothly. He seem to know what he his doing. My cousin had this same question. And it seemed to work for him.

Hi there, can I suggest if you want to put in fasteners quicker and less effert than using a vise try the MLT MS25 fastener. All you need is a cordless screwdriver to install the baler belt when in the shed or out in the field.
All the best, Steve

The only information written on my hay baler is Mobilco Super 59. I have been trying to bale my hay but the knots on the left side aren't tying. I adjusted this and it tied a few then the knotter on...

The mobilco sounds like a gar lubricant. I bale myself and work on my own machinery. The first thing you need is the make, model and serial numbers. There shuold be a tag somewhere fastened to the machine. Both of mine have the tag riveted to the flywheel side of the frame.Mine are old john deere balers. Balers can be very complicated machines and you need the manual to dial them in right unless you know that machine like the back of your hand. Sometimes you can have tying problems from bad twine that might have been damp or knotters rusty and not moving right. Some times penetrating oil on the moving parts of a knotter will do wonders. I am assuming that you are talking about an old square baler since I dont know what you have for sure. I started having problems with mine when the twine started wearing a pretty deep groove in one of the parts it dragged across (dont remember which part it was) but anyway, I replaced and reshimmed accordingly, and it ties really good now. Hope I could be of some help.

New holland 271 baler broken shear pin, now out of time

You need to go to your nearest New Holland dealer and buy a Baler Knotter Service Manual.

I suggest this because it sounds to me that you have absolutely no clue what you are talking about, just by the way you've presented your question.

Additionally, there are lots of help forums on here - Google the words "how to time new holland baler" - and you will find a plethroa of generic information for different NH balers on timing procedures.

HOWEVER... If you are not familiar with this kind of service work... Please... go buy yourself a MANUAL! They are NOT that expensive, and they are worth their weight (and then some) in gold!

You can also buy manuals on-line. I bought mine from a seller on eBay.
Here's a link to a current auction, good for the next 29 days or so: http://www.heavyequipmentshop.info/view.php?item=NewHollandKnotterServiceTipsBalerManualLot&num=370404567925
You can purchase the pair of manuals for like $32.00 US dollars, including the shipping!

Don't get screwed by being a cheap skate! Hay is extremely weather dependent, and there's no time for down time!

Good luck & god bless...

Hay baler twine double knot

Your timing belt has slipped. If you have the repair manual for your baler, this is a relatively easy repair.
