Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: Kenmore Sewing Machine model # c877.15

I have an old Kenmore and here are the directions from my manual: 1. Draw thread from spool through bobbin winder tension discs. 2. Wind thread around an empty bobbin several times. 3. Place bobbin onto bobbin winder shaft with thread coming from rear of bobbin. Push bobbin winder latch against bobbin until it clicks. 4. Release clutch by turning clutch knob toward you. Start machine.

What do you mean you are unable to pull the bobbin thread through, elaboration would help solve the problem...
I suspect I'm having the same problem with you if it's anything to do with the top thread looping around in the bobbin holder.

Damn machine!

(To do this test, adjust your tension setting to normal or medium or 5 or something in the middle. Raise the presser foot and pull the thread through the tension. It should pull easily!! Lower the presser foot and pull the thread. It should pull noticeably harder.) If it passes this test, continue up through the take up lever, then down through the thread guides to the needle. Make sure your needle is fully inserted and turned the correct way.( If you load your bobbin case from the left side, the needle rule is normally FLAT to the RIGHT is RIGHT. There are some exceptions. If you have a newer style drop in bobbin or your bobbin case loads in the front then the rule is FLAT to the BACK.

Yes, but it is a good basic machine.

Providing you have put a new needle in the correct way round if the machine is not picking up the thread it may need retiming, email me and I will attach full instructions if that is the problem.

I have a Finesse new home 23 4 overlocker. How do I start the threading please.

A manual would be helpful:

Instruction Manual Janome Newhome 234

Even if you are unable to find a manual for your particular model, similar models usually thread the same or similarly. Just be sure to ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot when threading the machine so the thread will seat in the tension disks.

Why won't my new home super stretch stitch model-844 pick up bobbin thread to sew manual book

If you need a manual, search the internet for:

Make + Model + the word "Manual"

or contact the manufacturer.

Try installing a brand new needle. A bent needle sometimes will not connect properly. Be sure that both upper and bobbin threads are threaded correctly.

On the other hand, the needle/hook could be out of time. You can check that by hand turning the handwheel and watching the needle/hook movement. There are a multitude of web sites and videos that discuss timing. Or--check with a sewing machine technician.

Thread Bobbin on Newhome Sewing Machine

HINT: install a brand new needle. Remove the top thread from the machine. ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot and then rethread the top thread. The upper tension should start out set at the midway point. Use only fresh, good quality thread--AVOID old or bargain bin threads.

If the machine is threaded correctly top and bottom, but is still not catching the bobbin thread, then it's possible the machine is out of time. Search for sewing machine timing or take it for service.

Since it is an older mechanical machine, it is recommended to clean and oil the machine frequently. Oil Before using it if it has been in storage. If the machine is sticky, motor drags, etc., here's a good reference for getting it back in shape:

Wheel on right side that controls the needle up and down is very tight...

A friend asked me to thread her Janome 352 sewing machine without instruction book. The solution posted assumes that I know what all the parts are but although I have sewed for 30+ years I couldn't...

you can go to www.sewing.about.com and check out Debbie's sewing machines 101 guide. She has images, diagrams and general threading up.

or your friend can purchase a manual from here http://ifixmachines.com/vmchk/Janome-Model-352/Janome-352-Sewing-Machine-Manual/ilvm_fly1_blue.tpl.html

tally_girl_30.jpg looking at this image I would say "raise the pressure foot, take the thread from the spool holder at rear of the machine and take to the left and through the first thread guide (cant see one but there will be) then down the right side of the metal flat thing, through the guide at the bottom, then back up the other side of the metal thing and through the take up lever (turn fly wheel until this is tat its highest point to get access) then back downwards, through the thread eye near lower edge of machine head, then down to the needle bar thread guide and through the needle.

The tension device will be in that top area where the metal piece is and the horizontal white dial on left will be tension control dial.

I hope this helps you and your friend out, 4 thumbs up if so :-)
