Consider NOT connecting the camera to the computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

SOURCE: Cannot get the camera to

It is possible that you have pictures on the camera's internal memory and as long as they're there, the camera won't use the card. You can test this by removing the card and then try to review pictures. If they show up, then the internal memory is playing. To get rid of them, with no card in the camera, go into the menu and find "format" and follow the on-screen instructions. After that, your card should work properly.

With a camera as inexpensive as this, repair is not cost-effective. Replacement is the only option.

Install the DRIVERS for WINDOWS. Keep in mind that the OS in this drivers work in Windows 98 (including the second edition), Windows Millennium Edition (Windows Me), Windows 2000 Professional, Windows XP Professional, Windows XP Home Edition.

Additional details about format pics, charging with USB cable (page 17), and transfer pics from camera/pc (page 11) could fiind in the DS6618 Owners Manual (PDf format).

Every time i trie to delete or take a photo the camera says protected card

SD and SDHC cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.

How do you download memory

You need to transfer all the pictures saved in the camera's memory to other location (to a PC or memory card). You can install the software provided with the camera in your PC and transfer the pictures after synchronizing it.

Help! can't upload my photos to my auction server! Where is JPEG

Not sure what kind of media card you are using or internal memory but have you tried taking the photo - placing the memory card - or - photo it self on the hard drive of your computer somewhere it will be easy for you to find and you can use explorer - find the photo with explorer - right click on the photo - here you can use a few things - properties will tell you a little information about the photo - you can use " Open With " and try paint or Microsoft photo editor [ the one I use the most ] and once opened up - just use the menu on the top and save it as a jpg. Hope this helped some...

Software not compatible with macbook

Save the aggrivation. Go to Walmart and purchase a SanDisk multiple card reader (about $25) usually found in the camera section. It plugs into a USB port on you Mac. Just take the memory card out of your camera and put in the appropriate slot of the SanDisk. The memory card will come up like another drive on the desktop. You can copy images to your hard drive from there.
