Coby MP3 player MP822-4G (stuck on the welcome page!)

There are many problems with these Coby units. I do not recommend this brand.
By what you are describing, the firmware will need to be updated..

No code for my universal remote.

I work for COBY tech support. Our customer service phone number is 1-800-727-3592.

I know this isn't what you want to hear, but unfortunately, there is no way to control a COBY dvd player with a universal remote. If you need a new remote, please call the number above so that we may give you the instructions for obtaining a replacement directly from COBY. The cost is $6.00.

I hope I've provided you useful assistance and that this information allows you to make an informed decision as to how to proceed from here. I hope I've earned a positive rating from you today.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.

I can't download dvd's to my coby mp610 mp3 player

Ok for the first question

I find that the converter that comes with the player works well with files in the .mov format.Get a dvd ripper that can support Quicktime .mov file.Daniusoft DvD ripper supports .mov output conversion. If you cant find one that does that maybe you can ripp the DVD then convert the output file to .mov then after that use the converter that came with the player to convert to the .mtv format that the player uses.If you accidentally deleted it you can get another download from the Coby USA website..Here is the link to the page..

There are two files, one is a firmware update(the answer to the second question) and the other is the MTV Video Converter Version 2.12.00.

The second question

Just get the firmware from the above the pdf file included first.Back up you files also...the firmware will delete all files and return player to factory settings

i hope this works for you

It won't charge

Hi, The problem lies with the battery. If you are within the 90-day warranty, the unit can be replaced. If you are out of the 90-day warranty, contact the manufacturer for a replacement battery. Keep in mind, to replace the battery, if you are handy you can do it yourself with a soldering gun. If not, take it to your local repair facility. It should not take more then 5 minutes to replace the battery. The cost for a battery is a $6.00 Money Order. Contact Coby Consumer Care / Technical Support

Coby states you can ony use Window Media Player 11 and then you connect your Coby player via USB and WMP will recognize it. From within your Media Library you want to use the Sync function to transfer file over.

If you've tried this and it still didn't work for you contact Coby directly using this toll free number:
  • Toll-free: 800-727-3592 (8:30AM to 9:00PM on weekdays, 9:00AM to 5:30PM on weekends)
  • NY local: 718-416-3197 (8:00AM to 5:30PM on weekdays)
If you have any further questions or need the manual just comment back to me and I can help you.

coby products are trash, buy yourself a ipod and return/trash your old coby player.ive had two coby products and they both stopped working for NO reason, one was 6 months old{portable dvd} another {mp3 player}was 3 weeks old!
i put 300 songs on mine now i have to start over and all the technician from coby said was"mail it in ,we'll send you a new one",what about the time and/or money wasted buying mp3s?
