Are you sure its exclamation mark?.. This warning message related to print head. (warn out). When you are replacing ink tube assembly use dummy print heads to do the priming (new ink tubes are empty & they have to fill with ink).. Action: Remove all cartridges and print heads, switch on the printer follow the screen message.(Insert cartridges first next dummy print heads).once its recognizes cartridges then it switch over to print heads, insert dummy print heads. Once printer recognized the dummy print heads, printer will perform priming, during priming dummy print heads will filled with respective inks.(follow the display message)Remove dummy print heads & insert normal print heads. Wait till printer recognizes print heads, load the paper & wait till performs the calibration, once calibration is successfully done issue closed. If calibration not successfully done, check align print out for which print head is not printed properly, replace it.. Pl ensure that minimum 50% ink levels required in cartridges before performing the priming. Best of luck..
epson is crappy printers i know alot of people like it on repairing them i will never buy epson or brother ... anyways hopefully you have OEM/REAL epson cartridges.......otherwise it will give you an none or empty cartidges.
This is an example of why 2nd class refills are junk. I would try to gently clean the printer out. While a lot of people disagree with this advice, a mixture of 90% alcohol in a tiny pipit works well. Then use some lint free q-tips. Most cartridges have electronic chips on them that report the status of the cartridge. Refilled ink cartridges may have bad or defect chips.
While there may be ink in the cartidges, your printer is getting a signal from the cartidge that it's near empty. There is no real workaround for this; you just have to replace the cartridge(s). If you use a LOT of ink, you might consider installing a CIS (continuous ink system) now made for most printers. You will save a lot of money over time.
When the printer says "install C" it is referring to the Cyan (blue) ink cartridge. If this is not a new cartridge, you might have to replace it. If this is a new cartridge, try following these steps.
1. Unplug the power cable. 2. Remove all 4 ink cartridges. 3. Close the ink cover 4. Plug the power back in. 5. Wait for the machine to warm up and tell you that the ink is empty. 6. Reinsert all 4 ink cartridges.
If you keep getting the same message you should try another cartridge. You can put the yellow cartridge in the blue spot to see if you get the same message. If you get the same message then the machine is broken. If you get a new message then the cyan cartridge needs to be changed.
Follow the steps below to remove and replace the empty ink cartridge.
Turn the printer on.
Open the ink cartridge door.
Figure 1: Opening the ink cartridge door
Squeeze the gray tab below an ink cartridge slot to release the gray latch and then lift the latch.
Figure 2: Lifting the latch1 - Ink cartridge latch for the black ink cartridge2 - Ink cartridge latches for the color ink cartridges NOTE:
Theink cartridge areas are color-coded for easy reference. From left toright, the ink cartridges are black, yellow, light cyan, cyan, lightmagenta, and magenta.
Pull the ink cartridge toward you out of it's slot to remove it.
Figure 3: Removing an ink cartridge
Remove the new ink cartridge from the packaging.
Hold the ink cartridge by the handle and then slide the ink cartridge into the empty slot.
Makesure that the ink cartridge is inserted into the slot that has the sameshaped icon and color as the ink cartridge. The copper-colored contactsshould be facing the printer as the ink cartridge is inserted.
Figure 4: Inserting an ink cartridge
Press down on the gray latch until it clicks into place.
Figure 5: Closing the gray latch
Repeat steps 3 through 7 for each ink cartridge that needs to be replaced.
All six cartridges must be installed. The printer will not work if an ink cartridge is missing.
Close the ink cartridge door.
after Doing this all Follow the next step :-
Please Try This, I am sure it is going to workout.
Resetting the All-in-One Press the On () button to turn off the unit.
Disconnect the power cord from the back of the unit.
The MP600 does not use the 40 or 41 cartridges, it uses individual color (and black) ink tanks. But other models (MP190, MP460, MP470, etc) do use these cartridges. The error message you are receiving indicates that the printer does not recognize the cartridge you installed as a valid black ink cartridge. This can mean that either the cartridge is faulty, or that the printer has a problem.
I would suggest trying another new cartridge, and if you still get the same error, to contact Canon for support options if the unit is still in warranty.
Take all carts out of the machine. Have a look into the cart holder. Is there ink swapping beneath the white plastic? (You might shake the machine ;-)
If yes, the cart holder leaks and needs replacement.
If not (your lucky!) it could be that the automatic cleaning procedure which starts when a cart is changed has soaked the carts empty.
Do set machine with date and time and NEVER unplug NOR use a power switch which breaks the power supply.
Do use constant power and switch off machine by pressing stand-by-fax-button!
Everytime when machine comes to (new) power contact it runs an extensive ink cleaning procedure. thats why your carts are always near empty....
The stand-by will prevent this and machine does some cleaning procedures which consumes only a few drops(!) of ink!
The display asks you if you have changed the carts. Do answer this question by pressing 1 for YES or 2 for NO.
This will reset the built-in inkcountermanagement to the correct settings
