I just started having the same problem with my sd630. I use a Mac/iPhoto for images. I've had my camera a year and never had a problem until recently. All I had to do was connect the camera to the mac, turn the camera on and the images uploaded. I tried a new USB cable as well.

I can scroll through the camera to see the images, but when I open the memory card through a pc, there is no image available. Same thing happen when I put the sandisk into the laptop to open file, no file/image is there.

I am having the same problem with my Canon Powershot SD630... I used to have a PC but recently (in 2008) purchased a MacBook. I have uploaded pics to the Mac using the same USB and it even loaded the software no problem, but now it won't recognize the camera. It is plugged in correctly and it is in the correct mode, the little green light just keeps flashing and the LCD screen goes blank. I wanna get these pics of my camera - what good is a camera without being able to use the pictures on it! :( HELP!

What operating system is your computer running? Do you see the camera in "my computer"? if so is the folder empty or is there another folder in it?

TRy Picasa, free from google. Maybe your software has a glitch? Also make sure the camera is in camera mode, not PC mode (webcam) could be fouling things up.

Windows doesn't recognize camera

The HDMI cable is for connecting the camera to an HD TV. If you want to connect the camera to a computer, use the USB cable.

Better yet, don't connect your camera to your computer. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

Window 7 doesn't recognize birdcam

after plugging in the USB cable to the camera and computer you need to set the mode button on the camera to "setup". Then the USB will be recognized and you'll be able to see your drive and pictures. I had the same problem then went and re-read the instruction manual... when in doubt... READ :)

How do i download pictures from a verizon lg cellphone

There are a number of ways to do it. 1) you can use a cable that plugs into the camera and the other end of the cable plugs into the usb port of the computer. Most camera's come with this cable, if not it's a pretty common cable to purchase for less than $10.00. Once you plug it into both the camera and the computer, turn the camera on and the computer will recognize the usb camera device. You'll have to navigate to where your pictures are but that should be easy just open the folders until you find them. 2) you can buy a usb card reader than handles different types of cards. Remove the card from the camera and place it in the card reader device. Once again your computer will recognize the usb card reader and you can navigate thru the folders to find your pictures. 3) You can email them to yourself then go to the computer and open your emails and save the pictures.

How do i dowload picture from my samsung camera to my computer?

Hi there.

All you need to do is connect your camera to your pc using the usb cable that it came with. Once connected, turn the camera on so for the pc to recognize it. Once recognized by the pc, the camera will show as external usb device. Just go to my computer, locate for the camera, then click on it. You can start transferring all the photos from the camera to the pc by then.

If you need further assistance, please let me know.

Thank you for using Fixya!

easiest way to download from the camera is to just take out the SD card and plug it into your SD card slot on your computer if your computer has the slots else buy a card reader to plug into your comp (they are really cheap these day just a couple of pounds) this is the way most people do it these days because even if you get a trouble free cable connection between camera and computer then install the required software etc etc it is too long winded for a very simple task

Unable to download pictures from camera to pc

There are lots of different USB cables, not a real standardized piece. Try the USB that came with the camera or buy one that has your model listed. I have many and they all are specific to their models, some charge but dont sync, while others sync but dont charge, and some just dont do anything.
