Question about Dell Inspiron 1501 Notebook

I have had problems with my computer and have lost Help and Support. I can't control my sound and it says I need to go to help and support but it says it isn't running HELP please

click start control panel sounds and audio devices you can adjust the volume there also select speaker volume you can change your settings there you can also tick in the box place icon in taskbar for any further volume control settings you will need to right click on the volume icon system select adjust volume

click start control panel sounds and audio,volume,advanced,speakers select the appropriate speakers from the drop down list or navigate to the device manager scroll to system devices + to expand,system speaker right click properties then select use this device (enable) also you might check
the speakers plug/outlet is usually at the back of the computer you will have to open up the computer to check the lead attached to the rear of the input plug make sure the connection is good
try cleaning your computer of dust using a fine air blower from a compressor making VERY sure that there is no MOISTURE in the air line specifically around the sound card and the CPU central processing unit dust causes static to build up in a computer
if you dont have a motherboard disc you will have to download the drivers

Hi, these instructions will help you with the Audio problem. These are the steps to setup and 'restore' theAudio Drivers Part (1) Click on the "Start" button, go to and click in the (right, pane) Control Panel.
Scroll to find Hardware and Sound, open the program an select, Audio Devices, and Sound Themes” selectPlayback” click on the Active "Speakers.” to open Configure to: Audio channels. The Speaker Setup "wizard help you with the instructions to fix the sound. Select (Test) click, Next! Part (2) Click 'Properties' and change the "sound"(Level). You can also make adjustments using the Enhancements option. “The (Advanced), “I do not recommended!” Next, in the Controller Information (block), open the Properties Icon to "update" Drivers. Check to see if Device usage: is (enable) if not? Enable it. *Note: Click "Apply, OK, and Save when finished. Restart the computer to finalize the changes. sound no picture does it flash when first powered on ? its the invertor board it controls all the lamps
that light the screen/shine torch into screen you

Reinstall your sound driver from the PC cd. If you don't have the CD, go to the toshiba website and download the driver.

Want my compter to produce sounds


Right mouse click my computer icon on the desktop, select properties, choose the hardware tab, click device manager locate the sound, video and game controller, click the plus sign to expand it, if there is a yellow question mark or exclamation point then the problem is the drivers. If not, go to control panel select sounds and audio devices, click the audio tab and make sure the correct sound decive is selected.

Lost sound please help


remove / uninstall the drivers from the control panel (device manager) reboot and let the computer reinstall the correct drivers.
