Hi the wand release button is located directly above the the Cylinder release button. The wand release button looks like the picture below. In order to releease the wand you must firstly make sure the Electrical cable is not wrapped up for storage. So unwrap the electrical cable. then find the item as in the picture. Press this button in and at the same time lift the wand. This will realease the wand from the spine of the Dyson. dumfriesdon.jpg

Dyson ball animal 2; 2 months old has stopped working - it has no suction at all no matter what I do? Nothing, ZERO suction, completely useless! ? It worked for about 10 minutes this AM???

Suction stops when there is either something blocking inside the hose or you vacuumed a sharp object that created a hole or tears in the hose or bottom transfer line.

You will need to look very carefully at the hose to see is something is jammed up also turn the unit over and look at the looping hoselike section to see if there is a tear or jam. if its a jam carefully remove the object. if its a tear you will need to get the part from Dyson to replace it. since the unit is new you can also send it in for repair. depending on whether the unit is new or refurbished you should have from 1-5 years.

There is a sock stuck in the hose of my dyson dc23 animal motorhead how do I get it out

Hi, this is Jim with Crucial Vacuum,

Detach the hose and stretch it out completely, if the sock is in a hard to reach place use a broom handle to push it out. Be careful to mind the edges of the hose you don't want to cause a tear, which would lead to poor suction.

You can purchase replacement parts for your Dyson DC23 direct from Crucial Vacuum with free shipping and an exclusive 10% coupon for Fixya.com readers, use code: FIXYA10

Dyson dc25 handle stuck at top of wand wont relaese

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

A jammed DC25 wand may mean that the hose was twisted when the wand was last replaced on the machine. This can prevent the wand from extending or retracting fully. The video I've attached shows you the simplest way to resolve this.

If you would like any further advice from our experts, you can reach the Dyson Customer Helpline by calling 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), or 1-877-397-6622 (CA).

How remove plastic bag stuck in dyson hose

Thanks, sonic boom electronics, for the idea to shove the garden hose up there. Our hose is nice and narrow and it worked perfectly! I pushed it through one end and started feeling resistance, and kept on shoving and when the hose reached the other end, it was pushing out the plastic bag. Whew!

Suction only coming through the wand when its replaced its not switching back to the upright. I have a dyson DC28 animal

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

I'm sorry to hear your DC28 doesn't seem to be working correctly. It sounds as though the change-over valve may be jammed - this diverts the suction to the hose when you remove the wand, and back to the cleaner head when you replace the wand on your machine.

You may find a blockage is jamming the valve - you can check for this using our online Support guide:

If you can't find any obstructions, please get in touch with us directly as we'd appreciate the opportunity to provide further assistance. If you email us at [email protected], we'll be in touch as soon as possible.

Hello. I just used my dyson dc25 for the first time and using the wand was kind of tough, felt stiff and wasn't easy to keep out to use. Any ideas??

Hi there,

Sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your new DC25. You should find that although the hose and wand may feel a little stiff to begin with, they should loosen up with use. You can expedite the process by stretching out the hose to it's fullest extent whilst someone else holds the cleaner in place.

If you have any further questions about using or maintaining your Dyson, please get in touch with us directly so one of our experts can provide the assistance you need. You can call us free on 08002980298 (UK), or 1866MYDYSON (US).

Kind regards,

Loss of suction

very simple fix. took me a good hour to figure this out but... first take off your brushhead. via popping the clip so all u have is the circle showing then turn on the vacum using the hose. put the hose over the hole where the brush head goes.. and give it a shake etc to losen up whatever it is u got stuck up in that hose. mine was xmas tree/cat hair mix. which is the death of any vacum lol.. but that noise on the top of the can is cause by suction loss. just use the hose to **** out whatever u got jammed in there and use your finger if u need too. and then no more canister noise.

Suction quit working. Someone awhile back said

You have to refit the internal hose. This is the small clear hose at the bottom of the machine. Pull it off where it sits next to the wheel first - make sure that the gray piece of rubber is still on the hose - next, twist the hose off where it connects to the brushbar - inspect the hose and make sure you don't have any holes in it - put it back on by twisting it onto the side of the brushbar first - then line the gray piece of plastic end up with the hole next to the wheel and push and twist it back over the whole. Give it a small tug to ensue that it is on properly. Test the vacuum. If that didn't solve it you have a blockage somewhere down the line and you may have to wash the filter if you haven't done so in the past 3-6 months.
