    Do you mean the SSID? You should also check if he secured your wireless from unauthorized access. To connect to your wireless router, it needs the router?s wireless settings configured and also needs the wireless cards in all the laptops and or computers to be configured with the router?s wireless settings. Then the laptops and desktop computers can communicate with your wireless router. To set-up and secure the wireless router from unauthorized access, follow these steps: - 1. Connect the wireless router to your computer with a LAN cable. 2. Start your browser and enter the router's configuration URL IP address. 3. Enter the router setup, login and password 4. Change the admin password 5. Go to the wireless settings and change the default SSID and turn off SSID broadcast. 6. Setup encryption key the strongest is WPA2 (if not then WPA). 7. For further security measures - turn on MAC address filtering and enter the MAC address of the wireless cards on the computer/s you want to connect to this wireless router. 8. Record the settings you have made and keep it in a safe place and Save the settings. 9. Configure the wireless cards on the computer/s with the SSID and encryption settings of the router. 10. Remove the LAN cable between the router and the computer then the computers should be able to connect to the router wirelessly.

You will need to access the router set up.
Do you have any computer connected to the router ?
If not then you will need to connect the computer to the router with the Ethernet cable.
Then access the router set up. Under wireless settings you will be able to change the name or also called as SSID.

I am trying to connect my tablet to xfinty

You have to connect the tablet to your Arris 862 gateway "comcast modem" the key to your wireless is on the bottom of the modem on white sticker. The key is case sensitive most generally all in caps. Your network name is as well on the sticker should be HOME- and a 4 digit number. To get the tablet to connect you need go into "settings" on the tablet and then tap "wireless or may say WIFI", Find the comcast modem/router name "the Home- whatever number it is click it then it should prompt you to type in the network key.

Netgear wirless - installed on toshiba satellite a45 - S151 will not connect to internet router = comcast - linksys also causes conflict with connection of other wireless computer

Presumably, you have configured your wireless router:
* SSID (your "network name")
* encryption-level ('WPA' or higher security)
* password for your network

With that information, any wireless device (iPod Touch, iPhone, NetGear wireless adapter) should be able to connect to your wireless router.

> conflict with connection

Exactly what error-message are you getting?

How do I hook d link up to my comcast router so that I can use it with my laptop?

Well, you are trying to connect a router to a router, that can be difficult. Is there anyway you can exchange the Dlink router for a Wireless Access Point (AP)? If you can, you just connect the AP to the 4-port network side of the comcast router, configure the wifi settings (security, etc), and you're good to go.
If you can't exchange it, then your best bet is to connect the 4-port (or internal) side of the dlink router to the 4-port side of the comcast router. Then the dlink will be seen by the comcast router as another internal connection, and you can set the wifi settings of the dlink at that point. If you connect the dlink to the comcast router via the External port on the dlink, then you are creating two separate IP subnets, a needless complex setup.

When I recieve a phone call through my comcast phone, it disconnects my wireless on my Belkin

I assume you are using a Comcast modem that you plug your phone into.

Does a wired connection to your router work when you get a phone call or just wireless the wireless is cutting out? If both cut out then this problem is on Comcast's side. You can call them using 1-800-COMCAST to have them fix the issue.

If the wired connection works but wireless does not, I would guess you are using a cordless phone that is running on the same frequency your wireless router is. If this is the case, you can change your router's configurations to operate on a different frequency. This can be done by opening up your internet browser and entering the router's configuration menus by using a URL(address) of 192.168.1.1 (possibly 192.168.0.1). Once you are in the configurations, look for options for wireless frequency and change them to something else.

If this does not work, I would suggest calling Comcast because the problem more than likely resides on their end.

G wireless router

You should disable the WAN miniport pppoe. SSID is the wireless network name or the signal's name coming from your wireless router.

After disabling the wan miniport, Right-click on Wireless Network Connection > View Available Wireless Network. If you see several networks listed, highlight your wireless network and click Connect. That should do it.
