Hello sir, hi, the common cure for the PC not powering up is the memory module being undetected, so check you memory modules, the terminals should be clean and the memory slot dirt free. Use an eraser to clean the contact foils and a clean paint brush to clean dirt from the slots. You should hear or feel the click as the memory modules are installed. Do this several times until it power up.

If that would not solve your problem, please tell additional info like, fan blowing, beeps, keyboard light status, monitor lamp blinking. Any info can help,

When i turn on the computer, the fan keeps spinning and making noise and the monitor is black screen. i tried many ways to resolve it but unsuccessful.

If your monitor is black but everything is still spinning, first off if you have opened up your PC check for certain if everything is connected again properly (especially the 4 pin connector near the CPU) and also the cable to the monitor and the monitor's power cable of course.
First of all try to connect your monitor to another device and see if it works. If it does not then your monitor is broken. if it does, let's go to the next step.

If everything is connected properly inside the PC, the odds are very high that your CPU and/or motherboard are broken. If possible try replacing the CPU and motherboard with another one if you have one lying around. If you don't you can either buy a new CPU or motherboard or if you want to take the more simple way, which is actually more recommended, go to your local PC shop and have your PC fixed.

Hpvs17e white backround is pink

hucknannie, Power down the pc and monitor. Then disconnect and reconnect the VGA cable a few times to the rear of the pc. then turn system back on and re-boot. If your "PINK" screen still there, then you may need to have unit refurbished with new "cold-cathode-fluorescent-lamps" or have the internal "switch- mode-power supply/ccfl-inverter-supply" inspected and repaired. Yes, before you do anything, visit this web blog about HP monitors!!! http://www.lesliewong.us/blog/2005/05/02/hp-pavilion-f1703-flat-panel-display-blackout-solution/ Read and make note that people are still visiting the blog even after 4 years!! Hope this response helps. Feel free to leave a comment and also rate this response on fixya. 12fixlouie

Computer wont detect monitors

hi kathy, please
give some more details:
does the monitor switch on without the computer? (press the menu button to access the menu for contrast, colour etc... to find out)
if yes, good.else get another one with vga plug( 9 pins), not the new HDMI...
the machine is like 10 yrs old,
now replug, turn on machine and wait if it does give you a boot screen

if not the graphics card might be broke and must be replaced.

- try to get an older graphics card (AGP)
plus drivers suiting the operation system
(like win2000/ win xp home)
u want to install (you'll need an original installation cd of that windows version,
as well) at ebay or in computer store or ask some tech freaks u know
if they do have left over one.

then you'll have to remove the old one...

if you got it:

switch off the machine, unplug all cables,
unscrew the chassis, remove old card carefully from slot, put in the 'new' one
reassamble everything, replug and turn it on.

it could work now...
when facing the windows installation, even if ti is win 98, please post another request on fixya.
hope i was of a help

Please can anyone help me i have recently upgraded my monitor from a xerox 19'' to a samsung 23'' syncmaster now with the monitor in standby i turn on my acer t180 and the green light in the on button...

I assume you are running windows. First off you need to boot into safe mode by pressing F5 repeatedly as soon as you start your computer. Select the option for safe mode. Once you are in then you need to go to the device manager. Click on the run option on your start button then type compmgmt.msc. Click on device manager on the left side. Then click on display adapters, select your graphics card by double clicking on it. Select the driver tab and uninstall the device. Once you do this reboot with the new monitor plugged in. The operating system should install plug and play hardware automatically. Then you can install the software afterwards once you logon on. Special note: you might have to do this with the old monitor first. Once you uninstall the display driver turn your machine off and connect the new monitor. I hope this helps.

Monitor turn dark frequently

it sounds like your PC trouble, you may try (it is better to make sure the monitor connect other PC ok)
1) check PC ram, change ram sticks position if there are two ram stick, or change a new ram if only one ram inside. not fix go next
2) check VGA cable connection, reseat the cable. still not fix go next
3) if you use AGP VGA card change VGA cable to onboard VGA interface (setup bios VGA to onboard),
is this helpful to you olease feedback thanks.

Samsung 226bw weird display problems

At first you should clarify if your GPU or LCD is broken.
Do You have any chance to try another monitor with your Graphicadapter or to try your monitor on a different PC?
Moreover you should try it with a new cable.

The symptom of weird symbols sounds most likely like a overheated or wrong-plugged Graphicadapter
