My HP 2840 Printer not fully functional via USB with my HP KQ752AA Docking stations (running Windows 7 32 bit), but if connected directly to the laptop it works...what is the problem w/the docking station?

Are you using the same cable to connect? The 2800 series printers do not tolerate USB cables over 10 feet and I have had some that would not connect properly unless a 6 foot cable was used. If you are using the same cable then it is possible that the drivers for the docking station are not installed properly on your laptop and you might need to update them from the manufacturers website.

Will not print when docked

I would recommend that you undock the laptop, go into the Printers and Faxes console, and delete the printer. Then, dock the laptop, connect the USB cable to the dock and then re-install the printer through the dock. The USB ports on the laptop are assigned different hardware values than the PCI interface of the dock, and if the laptop is trying to print to a local USB port, it may not find the printer if it's connected through a PCI interface like the dock. That'd be my next move.

Install the usb cable from your printer to the usb port on the docking station.
Install driver and software (the disc that came with your printer) while it is docked.

Got a new Vista computer and cannot get Kodak EasyShare Printer Dock Series 3 working. The computer searches for drivers but says can't find driver for "Xerox DocuPrint N17" That is not even the printer. I...

If you have the Kodak software on CD or DVD, place the disk in the proper drive (D or E, etc.) and when the program says it is looking for that driver, point it to the location in which you put the disk.

Even though it is not the right driver for what you need to do, often times, applications must have all the drivers available, so that the installation is complete. Then they can do what you need done.

Do give that a shot, As the saying goes, "it might not help, but it couldn't hurt!"

Cheers,

Installing printer to mac.

On Mac, You have no silly popups when you print something, instead you'll just see the printer icon in the dock, or bouncing if it needs your attention, if you installed the drivers, and you can print, and all other functions work, that's all that matters. Search Apple or your manufactures website if you want additional scanning / faxing software if needed. Also, info about your printer is found in System Preferences --> Printers and Faxes (or similar name) and double click your printer, other wise, use the buttons below for other options.

HP6210 all in one set-up won't work on Vista System Laptop

Did you get an error when installing,or did it install. What happened when you plunged in the printer
when the software told you to plug it in, did windows say found new hardware and you let it install a windows driver or did you shut down the window so it would install the hp driver.
Go to start, control panel, programs, look and see if the hp software is listed,if not it did not install,
try it again.
With the hp printer plugged into your laptop, go to devise mgr and look under portable device,it should
show your printer model#, rt click on the model # and then on driver, does it say hp or windows,if it says
windows then the hp driver did not get installed, put in the disk, then click on update driver and pick browse computer, and point it to the disk.

HP has a vista driver for your printer, so you need to check the set up info that came with it to see
if the vista driver in on the disk. You can always just download the driver software from HP,pick the vista
one and install it. But make sure that the software is removed from the program list if it was in there before you install again. Hope it works out, its very hard to cover everything so if any more Q's
just post back.

Printer won't connect

I think you need to press on the (Have a Disk) button and install your printer cd - which came with the package - into the CD-Drive

when you open your CD-Directory, the needed info file will be automaticlly selected, all you need to do is pressing (open) button and then (next) from the printer installing wizard.

Hope that was helpful.

Transmitting info to my laptop

hi there, try uninstalling your printer and reinstalling it again but use the most up to date driver for it which can be downloaded from http://wwwuk.kodak.com/global/en/service/products/EKN030179.jhtml?pq-path=6638 hopefully that'll solve the problem if not check the cartridges make sure they are seated properly might even be worth replacing them with new ones hope this helps
