If there's a problem with your screen or you're otherwise unable to do a factory reset via the settings menu, then you can use the hardware buttons to do a reset too. Simply turn your HTC One off, then press and hold the Volume Down and Power buttons. Continue to hold them until you enter the H Boot screen.Aug 23, 2014

How do i unlock my htc after many pattrn attepts

What type of HTC phone EVO Incredible? I suggest a hard rest as you cannot get into the phones menus. A hard rest will put you back to factory status you will lose all your pictures, music, data, etc.
To perform a hard reset using the device keys:
  1. Turn off your phone
  2. Press and hold the volume down button (located on the right side panel), and then press the Power button
  3. When the display turns on, release the volume down button
  4. Use the volume buttons to select CLEAR STORAGE, and then press the Power button
  5. All data will be deleted from your phone Your phone might be slightly different but try this

FOLLOW this steps and fix it. God bless you

  1. Hard Reset
    • 1
Pull out the stylus from the back of the HTC Touch Diamond or the side of the HTC Touch Pro.

    • 2
Using one hand, press and hold the volume down button on the left side of the device, the power button on the top of the device and the circular button on the face of the device. It is generally easiest to hold the volume down button with your thumb, have your palm over the LCD, press the power button with your index finger and the circular button with your pinky.

Continue to hold the buttons down while you turn the device over to access the back side. Use the stylus to press the "Reset" button, located near the end of the stylus cavity on the Diamond, and by the port on the bottom of the device on the Touch Pro. Release the "Reset" button, but do not stop holding the volume down, power and circular buttons.

    • 4
Turn the HTC Diamond over and watch the LCD. When a message appears saying that this operation will delete your data, release the three buttons. Press the volume up button to complete the hard reset.

    Clear Storage
    • 5
Slide your finger to the right along the bottom of the LCD until the "Settings" option appears. Tap "All Settings" on the device.

    • 6
Tap the "System" tab on the screen and then tap "Clear Storage"

    • 7
Select the drop-down box and choose "Clear Storage Only." Type "1234" into the text box confirming that you do want to delete your information and then press "Yes."

Well. I dropped my phone, which is a HTC Dash S60, really bad due to my brother and the power button came out. Is there a way to push something down through the power button hole to turn it on?

Yeah sure. I mean, the rubber/plastic buttons are just padding for the motherboard underneath the keyboard/menu buttons. You should still be able to turn it on/off by pressing down in the spot where the power button was. This is some poor cell phone construction...

Won't turn on

Obviously first thing is battery, maybe it is defective. Or it could be contacts in the battery compartment. Or the power button. You could try the soft reset (right-hand side of the phone under the back cover, a red (or green) button.

My power button doesn't work, can i turn on my dash with the keyboard?

No, you can only turn on the phone with the power button. If you feel comfortable opening the phone, then if you jump the front and back leg of the power switch, then it should turn the unit on if the switch is bad.

Please help, I can't turn on my HTC. What happened?

If you have a charged battery insert it and power the phone. If it hangs or whatever then (with the phone powered on, regardless of what's been displayed) keep on the keypad the two dashes ( - ) pressed and do a reset with the stylus. Do not leave the two buttons untill a black screen appears and ask you to press send (the green call button). Press it and you are done. If your phone doesn't have a hardware damage it should start. It will start from scratch again so you might be a bit patience.
