Question about Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition

1 Answer

We discovered someone had done searches for some 'inappropriate'' material on our computer. We have kids and don't want anything weird popping up. What should we do to delete any traces. Delete search history? cache? cookies?

Delete history, cookies, and system cache. You can go to tools, options, and set it so it doesn't remember anything.
You can also set ratings and parental limits for each user account as well.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Screen goes blank when doing anything that pushes the card

I have to ask you? Forgive me here but did you install the correct video card? You may have done that wrong. Is that possible? Or you may have installed a card that is overkill that is a possibility. If it is overkill it will not work properly. Seems weird I have done that myself thinking I would get the best card out there and installed it and it did the same thing for me as well. I had to rethink and get the right upgrade for the computer and I was fine after that. Since it runs in Windows fine that is a weird it not handling anything else. So this tell me it is not the right card, or it is a bad purchased or given to you card that is always a possibility as well.
Same with RAM a board can only handle so much ram installed you have to look into the board what will work for upgrade and what will not just because it fits does not mean it will work for you. Just a suggestion maybe someone else has a better answer here? John

I hit the Format button by mistake,And don't know where to find my pictures help?

Formatting the card wipes it clean and prepares it for use.
If you haven't done anything with the card since then, there's a possibility of recovering at least some of the pictures. Do a Google search for "format recovery software" and select a program appropriate for your computer.

I don't have a isp but my computer says I am loged on to a wifi network connected. Page not available pops up. Was getting it fine before. So what's wrong.

Someone discovered that you were using their router to access the internet and locked you out - try to find another network that you can connect to.  You can get a better Wireless card for anything perhaps one with an external antennae which should never give you a problem unless you are in Idaho, lol

Well there isn\'t a 100% perfect filter for anything, but videos on YouTube that contain material that other members think would be inappropriate for younger members get flagged. Once flagged, the video is no longer available to watch unless you have an account registered as 18 or older. If you stumble upon a flagged video, you will be unable to watch it until you log into an account and click a button that says confirm your age.

There isn\'t really a way to stop someone from making an account and lying about their age though.

Although, I don\'t think sexually explicit material is generally something one would find on YouTube, or atleast not something like ****.

I hope that helps, if you have any more questions, just let me know.

I have had this problem on my V3 also, turns out that the flex cable tends to get cold solder joints, find someone at one of your local mom and pop cell phone stores. Can usually find parts on ebay. Am not sure exactly which cable it is, had local tech that discovered he could solder the connections on the cable. http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?from=R40&_trksid=m37&satitle=v3+flex+cable&category0=
