Question about Computers & Internet

The remote control (LG AKB32559904 TV REMOTE CONTROL) suddenly quit working properly. We changed the batteries and all it would do is the volume control...with ANY button you pushed. It would turn the volume all the way up and if you continued to hold it, it would eventually turn the volume back down. However, now we are back to totally unresponsive. The TV button lights up any time you press any button though. Any thoughts?

Replace the remove control first. You can get universal or even an replacement original remote. If problem by slight chance persists, then ir sensor may be faulty.

Unfortunately, your description makes me think that your controller is on it's last legs. If you're interested in a replacement take a look at
http://www.remotes.com/remotes/servlet/rs?v=1&o=c&o=c&a=Search&uid=0&m=LG+AKB32559904&uuid=A12586087755561
You can also consider a universal controller.

Check the remote control for its infrared emission. Check it with fresh batteries. If you wish to get more details about how to check a remote control, please visit this site. One among the posts has details about it. Surf the site with patience.

If all other functions, except the Volume + / - button on your remote control works properly, the fault is with the remote controls' keypad. If no buttons on the remote control works, it might be due to a non functional remote control, or with a faulty infrared sensor inside your TV.

I have a Panasonic TH-42PX50u that suddenly is stuck on one channel and no volume control either. Same whether using remote or on TV. Only turns on and off no other control.

Try changing the input device to something you are sure, works such as a DVD player. Look for any loose contacts in RC jacks/sockets/Cable. Look for jammed buttons on remote and/or on control panel. Try removing the batteries from remote and operating from the control panel of TV. If these are ok, Switch off TV manually, switch off power, remove plug and retry after 48 hours. If problem persists, please refer it to a qualified service technician.

TV not responding properly to remote or direct input

Check the remote control for its infrared emission. Check it with fresh batteries. Check it by pressing all the keys. You can detect the presence of infra-red emission from the remote control, using a cell-phone camera. If you wish to get more details about how to check a remote control, please visit this site. One among the posts has details about it. In some cases, the remote control might need to clean.

Remote not working anymore for my LG 42PQ20. Ive tried changing

call LG if you think the TV is not accepting the signal from the remote the TV may have a fault in it. If you have any universal remotes try programing them to control the TV if they work but the other does not it is remote.

My remote no longer works powere on/off or volume on my LG plasma flat screen

Install new batteries and make sure to install with correct polarity, i.e, + to + and - to -.Ensure you are pointing the remote control directly at the TV. Check to see if there is any object between the product and the remote control causing obstruction. Ensure that the remote operating mode is set to TV. If you cannot set the remote properly, please give me the model number of your unit.

Unable to control channels or volume

Is the remote a universal? Make sure you select TV as the the device you are trying to control. You can also fix a wonky remote by popping out the batteries and mashing down all the buttons. This rids the remote of any built up electricity that could be hampering functionality. Also, the remote sensor on the TV is controlled internally of course so a power drain of the TV wouldn't hurt:

1. Unplug the product's power cable so that the device is not grounded to the house. Do not simply turn off the power-bar if one is in use.
2. Press and hold in the products power button for 1 minute to release the retained electricity from the capacitors and circuit board. 3. Plug the product back into the wall outlet rather than a power-bar to rule it out of contributing to the problem and turn the device back on.
What do the buttons on the TV itself do? Do they work properly? If not, the problem is going hand-in-hand with the remote and again, the problem is internal and service or a firmware update, if available, may resolve this.

Hello, I have a LG 42" plasma and the remote control doesn't work with the tv. I just call LG and they said it shoul be the remote control sensor on the TV......I don't know. Do you have any...

Good Day;
LG might be correct, but try these suggestions first;
1.) Change the batteries in the remote, and make sure they are properly installed; positive (+) to (+), negative (-) to (-).
2.) Take remote control to local TV service center, have them check it out.
Good luck, j73.
