1 Answer

Philips 60PP9363H/17 I would like to find a convergence for the tv above. Do you have any ideas on where I could pick one up that would be fairly inexpensive? picture is fussy and the colors at the bottom and top are seperating in a concave patern (blue and red)

Screen looks 3D
One or more colors can't be adjusted when when using the convergence menu.
Screen is bowed in but stationary.

Solution:
You need to replace the convergence chips and convergence resistors. Check the site www.TvRepairKits.com. They have put together a kit for your exact model. The kit inlcludes a photo instruction guide, original Sanyo STK chips, convergence resistors, etc. Everything you need to fix it yourself. Its an easy fix.

You may have a convergence problem. Here are some of the most common symptoms and example photos.

    • Screen looks 3D

    • Colors don't line up

    • One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.

    • Screen is bowed or warped.

    Here is a quick test....

Using your original remote go-to the tv settings then goto the convergence section.

Try to adjust the red and then the blue convergence.

You should be able to move them up, down, left, and right.

If you can't move them in all directions your convergence chips are bad and should be replaced. This is a common problem.

    Solution

If you don't see a kit for your set send them a quick email and they will put one together for you. Your convergence has failed and needs to be repaired. Once quick test is to goto your convergence menu and see if you can adjust red and blue. If not its has failed and needs to be fixed. You can call in a repair shop or you can get the parts and instructions from www.TvRepairKits.com and do the repair yourself. Its a fairly easy DIY fix.

Phillips hd projection tv/ model 60pp9363h/17

thats a common problem with all projection tvs. You will need to replace both convergence Ics and 4 resistors. You will need two STK392-120 Convergence ICs and four 6.8 ohm 1watt resistors. You can get replacement parts at the following link and they provide free instalation instructions so you can do the repair yourself. heres the link.

If your Philips Magnavox Projection TV has the following symptoms....

Video screen shrinks and expands.
Or
No Video or Audio - But the power light comes on!

If you have either of the two problems listed above its likely that the opto isolator IC has failed.

You can get repair instructions and parts from the following site.

Do you want a convergence board? I think it is the SSA module. You can get a new one from partstore.com or I have a used module from a scrap unit.
