First you might need to reset your router by pressing the tiny pinhole located somewhere at the back of the router. Once it was reset to default, you can plug it and open a browser with the url
http://192.168.0.1. Type admin as your username and password and you can be able to configure your router from the control panel.

I have forgotten my password for the router and it doesn't reset. I've tried admin, password and adminttd but none of them works

Not quite clear as to your problem. Are you trying to access the web-based configuration page for the router (for which you need an administrator password)? Or are you trying to make a wireless connection to the Internet via the router (for which you need the wireless security key)?

Those are two separate passwords, and you may be able to retrieve them both. The administrator password would be stored in the computer that was used to configure the router. The security key should be in the computer which configured the router, as well as any computer which made a wireless connection to the router.

You may find it helpful to check the owner's manual. (If you don't have that, you may be able to find a copy online and download - be sure to search for the correct model.)

If you can access the web-based configuration page for your router, you should be able to view (or reset) the wireless security key. (Check the owner's manual for your model.)

If you're not able access the router's configuration page, and the passwords are stored, you should still be able to retrieve them by installing some free software.

For the computer that configured the router, download and install this program:

You may find it helpful to check the owner's manual. If you don't have that available, you can download a copy here:

Be sure to specify the correct router model.

If you can access the web-based configuration page for your router, you should be able to view (or reset) the wireless security key. (Check the owner's manual for your model.)

For many Belkin routers, the URL for that page is simply: http://router

Then select "Security", and following the onscreen guidance.

Reset my router password

Router password can be reset by pressing and holding down for 30 secs (reset is not a button , its a pin hole at the bottom of router )
before reset make sure u have all the information of your provider coz reset will bring down your router to default factory settings and then you have to reconfigure the router.

Router secure connection

The password you are changing only will protect the Administration of the router. You need to setup what is called, "Wireless Encryption" on your router's configuration. There should be a tab on the Configuration page at 192.168.1.1 which will have acronyms like WEP, WPA, etc. That's the page you want to configure for your router. Then your wireless connection will show up as a "Secured" connection from your pc.

Can not connect laptop to wireless router computer is asking for Security key or password I will not accept password where would security key be found

The security key is defined in the router configuration. If it is your router, you can enter in the router configuration and, depending on the security mode you select, you can choose your own password.

Of course, if you already defined your password, make sure you're not using other caracters then alphabetical or numerical.
