Question about GE Profile Arctica 25.4 Cubic Feet Side-By-Side Refrigerator With Dispenser PSS25MGMWW

1 Answer

The temp on the right side is below freezing instead of staying on the 37 degrees I set it on. Goes right back to 26 degrees and freezes the milk and produce, etc.

Hi there,

This is a common problem that often doesn't have a clear, permanent solution. The first thing to check is the overall internal refrigerator temperature. The proper temperature should be between 35 and 42 degrees.
Try the following steps -

1. try turning the temperature up slightly.

2.If you find that the temperature varies a lot from the top shelf to the bottom (where it is coldest), try putting produce and other sensitive products on a higher shelf.

3. If the temperature is too low and you can't make it warmer by adjusting the thermostat, you probably have a defective thermostat. If so, you need to replace it, because they cannot be repaired. Other possible problems are a leak in the sealed (refrigerant) system, cold air migration or a defective air damper. These problems can be quite difficult to locate and correct. So in this condition we recommend you contact a qualified appliance repair technician.

Good Luck!!

Thanks

Sometimes when the refrigerator temp is 37* some of the food will get frozen.

Your thermostat is faulty. The vegetables cannot freeze at 37 degrees. It will not freeze until it's at 32 degrees. The sensor is wrong as it is impossible to freeze anywhere above 32.

What's a good temp. setting for the food/beverage section

Hi,
If you set the temperature below about 37 you run the risk of somethings freezing...but milk should be as close to 40 as possible, so I usually recommend a setting of about 39.

Whirlpool 6 sense model WSC5513- A+ X side by side, without ice or water dispenser. Refrigerator part not cooling properly. Temperature setting is -18 degrees Celsius for the freezer and 2 degrees...

The temp for the fridge is about right and -18 for the freezer is ok so check to see if the water filter is plugged, at 8 degrees Celsius is about 18 degrees fht. Which is freezing so the numbers don't add up. 26 degrees below zero on the freezer side is what you want if it that cold it could have frozen the water line.

We have a GDM-26 commerical coke machine. Only

If any of your drinks are freezing you need to adjust your temp setting. The suggested setting is 5. changing the temp setting basically tells the refrigerator to stop cooling when the temp hits a low degree, and to start cooling when it hits a high degree. This keeps your drinks not to hot, not too cold, but just right. If this doesn't work I would change the cold control altogether, it might've went bad. If you have a few minutes, locate the condensor fan (bottom) and make sure it is periodically turning on and off like it should.

Everything in the refrigerator is freezing

The 37 degree reading you're seeing is the temp. setting, not the present actual temp. When it jumps back to 22-25 its telling you what the actual temp is inside the refrig....simply wait about 24 hours. It should then read about 37...that is, the temp you set it at 24 hours previously.
