Your touchpad is not working right. Use a USB mouse and disable the pad until you can get the pad replaced. Also, check the mouse drivers to make sure they are correct and up to date.

How do I get my screen back to normal. it is too far over to the right. I cant hit the maximize box

What computer are you using?

On a Windows pc use the key combination ALT+TAB to switch between active windows

Then either:

Double click the Title bar of the window which is partly off-screen

Or - press the F11 key

Or - Click and Drag the title bar to the top of the screen then release the mouse button

One of these methods should toggle between full screen and where it is now

Or - Hover your mouse over a corner or edge of the troublesome window until the cursor becomes a double ended arrow - Then click and drag to re-size the window - Then click and drag the title bar to get the full window back in view

Where do I turn off my laptop

Power button is top left corner of keyboard above the "Esc" key.
If you are trying to shutdown from Windows 8, follow these steps:

1. Mouse over the little gadget in the lower right corner of the screen. (You can also move your mouse cursor to the upper left corner; same result. Or, you can press Windows-C on your keyboard.)
2. In the slide-out menu (known as the Charms Bar) that appears, click Settings.
3. Click the Power button, and then click your desired action: Sleep, Shut down, or Update and restart.

Recently, when getting a website, they all show just the top and I have to enlarge them. How do I fix this to get a full screen webpage the first time?

Please perform the following step to have your browser to open always in maximised screen:

Click IE, and open the browser, and when you do it the first time you will still have the browser in minimised screen. And now hold the cursor on the corners of the screen and drag it till the screen touches the end of the screen and when the browser looks maximised, Perform the below step and exit the browser.

Hold the "CTRL" key, select "File" and click "Exit." When you reopen Internet Explorer, it should open maximized.

And from now on when ever you click on the browser to use it you
will get it in full screen mode.

How do i get my start button on the left corner of my screen? it is at the top right now.

The Start Button is on one end of the "Taskbar"

Use your mouse to move the cursor anywhere on the task bar, click-and-hold, and drag the taskbar back down to the bottom of the screen.

If it won't move (you try to drag it but it's not going anywhere) then right-click on the task bar and un-check the menu item "Lock the Taskbar" then try again.

If this helps, hit the "thumbs-up" for me.
If not, use "add comment" to ask any questions you might have, then check back for answer from me or another FixYa expert!

Toshiba Satellite A215-S7437 will not boot up...

Take out the hard drive completely and then see if you hear the clicking noise, if you do then that means the hard drive is bad. Also if it goes right to another message and you don't see the blinking cursor then that also verifies that the hard drive was bad and causing the system to hang.

This is a well known occurance with laptops and is not something you can fix. Occasionally the manufacturer will release a patch to try and help, but this is very rare.
