Question about Sony Computers & Internet
Hello and thank you for using Fixya's services.
Make sure that you have every single update that Windows has available. There is a service pack 3 plus 63 more after that. There other drivers for the motherboard that have to be installed before the sound card can be recognized. One is called Microsoft Bus Driver for High definition audio. You can download it seperately here first and then download the Windows updates.
Once you download this, reinstall the audio drivers and it will find the hardware. I assume you have realtek?
Please let me know if you have any questions.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
